In the post-covid world, we have seen the rise of prominence of areas like blockchain, and then in recent years, interest moving towards the domain and applications of AI. As developers who are not always in these "trendiest" fields, should this scare us? Yet, this has always been the trend. Following the dot-com bubble in the late 1990s, technology has seen huge leaps, with the internet being new but substantial in consumer products.
