Sports Page: UCM Track & Field

We have a special treat on this episode of Sports Page as we are visiting with Mules and Jennies track & field graduate assistant Christopher Goodwin and his sister, Kayla Goodwin.  Christopher is a 15-time All-MIAA performer and four-time All-American, including a national championship in the outdoor long jump at the NCAA Division-II National Championships in 2022.  He is now a graduate assistant coach for the Mules and Jennies.  Kayla is a junior at UCM and is a six-time conference champion and seven-time All-American in the triple jump, indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon.

This week I get to visit with a  fellow Smith-Cotton High School and Central Missouri State University alum, my good friend Kathy Anderson [https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/5900143462619354659/7340386715887388801#]. Kathy is the interim vice president for intercollegiate athletics at UCM, but more than that she is a Jenny, through and through.  Her No. 32 is retired after an All-America and UCM Athletics Hall of Fame career with Jennies basketball.  She also was a member of the CMSU track and field and softball teams, competed for Team USA, and is enshrined in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame [https://www.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/5900143462619354659/7340386715887388801#].

Sports Page - UCM Athletic Media Relations

For 15 years I had the honor and privilege of working with some of the finest individuals in all of college athletics. These folks are at virtually every sporting event but are operating behind the scenes. I’m talking about the athletic media relations staff. And at the University of Central Missouri, we have one outstanding crew. All three of the individuals on the show this week are former students of mine.
