Kelly Klouw on Being a First-Year Teacher

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Kelly Klouw, a brand new first-grade teacher at Holmes Elementary in Spring Lake Schools.  Kelly shares the joys and challenges of her first few weeks in the classroom, from the excitement of connecting with her students to the hurdles of managing the energy and the demands of a teacher that exist outside of the classroom.  She also reflects on her teacher training and the best practices she honed as a substitute teacher, which–in essence–landed her the job.
