Day 45 - Genesis and Exodus in 60 Days

Exodus 23-24 Join us over the summer to go in depth reading Genesis and Exodus in 60 days. We enjoyed reading the New Testament last summer and we are going deep into the Old Testament this summer. The reading plan will include a daily podcast 6 days per week and will be shared both digitally and via print. The daily reading plan and podcast links will be on our website and we will use the link tree to encourage reading along in worship. Every day will include scripture, observations, context, and reflections on why it matters along with how we apply it to our lives.

The way the story of the exodus unfolds right during the most dramatic part of the telling of the Passover the narrator pauses to talk about remembering and reenacting the story right at the most exciting part? Why? What is the point? The narrator is making a theological point that is easy for us to miss. We too are a part of the covenant, we are participants not observers. When we celebrate Easter and Christmas we are doing more than remembering, we are participating in God’s work in the world!
