Sydney are Premiers is a retrospective podcast brought to you by The Swans Blog. We cast our gaze across the 2012 season and ultimately over one of the greatest grand finals of our modern era. Grab a beer or a glass of wine, kick back and enjoy the season in review.

Round 1 - Swans put young Giants to the sword

Welcome to season 2012, the year the Swans hoisted the premiership cup high in the sky, the fifth time in their history. Sydney are Premiers is a retrospective podcast brought to you by The Swans Blog. We cast our gaze across the 2012 season and ultimately over one of the greatest grand finals of our modern era. Against the odds, the Swans achieved what many thought was beyond them, even impossible, against one of the most dominant teams of the last 50 years. The Swans kick off their 2012 premiership campaign in superb fashion, with a 63-point win against the Greater Western Sydney Giants. Co-captain Kieren Jack, Josh Kennedy, Jude Bolton and Ted Richards were the best players afield, while the quality of the brilliant young Giants clearly shone through. Their performance was a sign of the future, while the Swans kicked off their season in the best possible way.
