In this episode, Neryssa and I talk about the parallels between science and journalism, pioneering lecturers as also active members of the industry, Neryssa's first report as the first author revolving around an extremist group in India and how it might have been harder for her to cover the story as a Muslim, the identity and empowerment that comes along with her wearing a headscarf, freedom of press in developing countries such as Malaysia - and what motivated her to pursue journalism.

In this episode of TBH Beyond Borders, I mildly investigate Minh Ha's connections to the Vietnamese Royal Family, and subsequently, Her Highness talks about Vietnamese History, French and American influence in Vietnam, the American War, The legend of Hoan Kiem Lake, Culture in her city of Hanoi, Vietnamese Folk Religion, Theater and Water Puppetry, the value of humour in Vietnamese society, Food Tours, and her experiences in Brisbane so far. We conclude the episode on an emotional and bittersweet note, as Minh Ha is leaving Brisbane tomorrow, but she will also be going on an exchange program to my city of Mumbai.
