The Aboriginal Outlaws
We live with existing systems of Western Justice, policing, crime and punishment thrust upon us from colonization. Despite platitudes of safety, and rhetoric toward the protection of women and children, the powers that be often fall short, and leave no legal options. In that vacuum the people do what they must, for good or ill, a can of gasoline in search of a spark. Such a spark happened this past week with the public questioning and search of a man with a reputation of violence towards women in the community of Akwesasne, and in this case possibly against children, and a now a fire is lit. The people have begun to demonstrate, they've begun to mobilize, confronting perpetrators in the real world and taking their stories on that favorite platform of the people: The Facebook A group page has been created allowing Anonymous posting to call out by name people in the community who have done harm to children and women Such a venue can be a double-edged sword with positives and negatives, some obvious, some not. On this episode Joshua and Isaac discuss the situation at hand what might have let up to it and the beginnings of some possible solutions. Come join the conversation with this episode of Sage Against the Machine. #akwesasne #justice #triggerwarning #directaction
