Beskrivelse

Have you ever walked into a room knowing someone had your back? It changes the way you carry yourself. You stand taller. You speak with confidence. You don't panic as easily because you know you're not standing alone. Now multiply that infinitely. Romans 8:31 contains one of the most confidence-building questions in all of Scripture: "If God is for us, who is against us?" But Paul isn't expressing uncertainty. In the original Greek, this is a first-class conditional statement that could be translated, "Since God is for us..." He's not asking if God is on your side. He's declaring that He is.  That doesn't mean opposition disappears. Paul knew better than anyone that Christians face persecution, suffering, temptation, and spiritual warfare. His point isn't that you'll never have enemies. His point is that none of your enemies are greater than your God. When the Creator of the universe stands with you, opposition loses its ultimate power. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths from Romans 8:31: 1. God's Presence Changes Everything — God's greatest promise has never been an easy life. It's His presence. You never stand alone. 2. God's Power Outweighs Your Problems — Fear grows when your problems become bigger than your view of God. Faith grows when God becomes bigger than your problems. 3. God's Victory Is Your Confidence — We don't fight for acceptance. We fight from acceptance. We don't fight for victory. We fight from Christ's finished victory. Ultimately, how do you know God is for you? Because He gave you His Son. Before Paul reminds us of what God provides, he reminds us of what God already gave. The cross forever settled the question of God's heart toward His children. Final Application: * What opposition feels overwhelming today? * What fear keeps shouting? * What circumstance keeps intimidating you? * Preach Romans 8:31 to yourself: "Since God is for me... who can ultimately stand against me?" Because when the Creator of the universe is in your corner... you don't have to fear who's in the opposite one. episode #92 | What Then Shall We Say? | Romans 8:31 | The Great 8 cover

#92 | What Then Shall We Say? | Romans 8:31 | The Great 8

Have you ever read something so incredible that you just sat there... speechless? That's exactly where Paul is in Romans 8:31. After eight chapters of unpacking our sin, God's grace, justification, the Holy Spirit, adoption, suffering, assurance, and God's sovereignty, he pauses and asks one simple question: "What then are we to say about these things?" It's not just a transition. It's an invitation. Paul isn't asking what we should do first. He's asking what we should say. Because before the gospel transforms your behavior, it transforms your perspective. Romans 8 isn't merely information to understand—it's truth that should leave us in awe of the God who saved us.  Too often we become so familiar with grace that we stop marveling at it. We know the verses. We know the theology. But we've lost the wonder. Paul reminds us that healthy theology always produces heartfelt worship. The more you understand the gospel, the more amazed you become by Jesus. In this episode, we unpack three powerful responses to God's grace: 1. Remember What God Has Done — Never lose your wonder. Gratitude grows wherever remembrance lives. Don't forget where Jesus found you or what He rescued you from. 2. Respond With Worship — The goal of theology isn't simply to make you smarter. It's to make you surrender. Truth should always move your heart toward worship. 3. Rest In What God Has Said — Your confidence isn't built on your circumstances. It's built on God's unchanging character. When life gets loud, preach the gospel to yourself. Ultimately, everything Paul has written points to Jesus. He removed our condemnation. He fulfilled the Law. He sent the Spirit. He adopted us into God's family. He secured our future. The gospel isn't merely something to believe. It's Someone to adore. Final Application: * When was the last time you intentionally remembered what Jesus saved you from? * Has your relationship with Jesus become routine instead of remarkable? * What truth from Romans 8 do you need to preach to yourself today? Because don't become so familiar with the gospel... that you stop being floored by it. episode #91 | Called, Chosen, Conformed | Romans 8:29-30 | The Great 8 cover

#91 | Called, Chosen, Conformed | Romans 8:29-30 | The Great 8

Have you ever wondered if God is really finished with you? Maybe you've looked at your failures, your setbacks, your struggles with sin, or your spiritual inconsistency and thought, "Maybe I've messed this up too badly." Romans 8:29–30 silences that fear with one incredible truth: your salvation didn't begin with you, and it won't end with you. From beginning to end, salvation is God's work. He foreknew. He predestined. He called. He justified. He glorified. Every verb points to the faithfulness of God.  What theologians often call the "Golden Chain of Redemption" isn't meant to spark arguments—it was written to give believers assurance. Paul wants you to know that the God who pursued you before you ever pursued Him is the same God who is shaping you today and will one day bring you safely home. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths from Romans 8:29–30: 1. God Pursued You — Grace has always begun with God. Before you prayed, before you believed, before you cleaned your life up, God was already pursuing you. 2. God Is Shaping You — God's greatest goal isn't making your life comfortable—it's making your life look more like Jesus. Every trial, every delay, and every season has purpose. 3. God Completes What He Begins — Your security isn't built on your consistency but on God's faithfulness. The God who called you is the God who will carry you all the way home. Ultimately, Jesus finished everything necessary for your salvation when He declared, "It is finished." Because Christ completed the work of redemption, you can trust God to complete His work of transformation. Final Application: * Where have you been doubting God's work in your life? * Lift your eyes. He's still working. * He's still shaping. * He's still calling. * He's still conforming. * One day, He'll finish everything He started. Because if God started the work... God will finish the work. episode For Men | Virtue One: Resolve | Daniel 1:8 | The Virtues of Daniel cover

For Men | Virtue One: Resolve | Daniel 1:8 | The Virtues of Daniel

Today is Independence Day, and across America we'll celebrate freedom with flags, fireworks, and cookouts. But Daniel 1 reminds us there's another kind of freedom that's even more important—spiritual freedom. Because you can live in a free country and still be enslaved by lust, approval, fear, anger, or compromise. The greatest threat to a man isn't losing political freedom. It's losing spiritual conviction. And once conviction disappears, compromise isn't far behind.  Daniel was just a teenager when Babylon tried to reshape his life. They changed his name, immersed him in a new worldview, isolated him from godly influence, and pressured him to conform. Babylon wasn't simply trying to change where Daniel lived—it was trying to change who Daniel was. The strategy hasn't changed. Culture is still trying to redefine identity, replace truth, and remove godly influence. But before Daniel ever sat at the king's table, he had already settled the issue in his heart. He resolved. In this episode, we unpack three gritty truths about biblical resolve: 1. Resolve Your Convictions Before Culture Challenges Them — Don't wait until temptation arrives to decide who you're going to be. Conviction is settled before pressure ever comes. 2. Small Compromises Create Big Captivities — The enemy rarely asks for everything at once. He starts with one small compromise because little compromises eventually shape lifelong allegiances. 3. Your Identity Must Be Stronger Than Your Environment — Daniel lived in Babylon, but Babylon never lived in Daniel. You can live in culture without letting culture live in you. Ultimately, Daniel points us to Jesus—the perfectly faithful Son who never compromised. Where we have failed, Christ remained obedient. And through His grace, He doesn't just forgive compromising men; He creates men of conviction. How Men Build Resolve: * Decide before you're tested. Don't negotiate with temptation.  * Stay rooted in God's Word. Convictions grow where Scripture is planted.  * Surround yourself with resolved men. Compromise is contagious. So is courage.  * Practice obedience in small things. Big faithfulness begins with little faithfulness.  Because the men who change culture... are usually the men culture could never change. episode #90 | All Things Work Together | Romans 8:28 | The Great 8 cover

#90 | All Things Work Together | Romans 8:28 | The Great 8

Romans 8:28 is one of the most quoted verses in the entire Bible—and one of the most misunderstood. You'll find it on coffee mugs, T-shirts, Instagram captions, hospital room walls, and funeral programs. But many people misread what Paul is actually saying. He doesn't say all things are good. Cancer isn't good. Divorce isn't good. Abuse isn't good. Loss isn't good. Death isn't good. Paul isn't calling every circumstance good. He's declaring that God is so sovereign, so wise, and so powerful that He can take even the darkest chapters of our lives and weave them together for His good purposes.  The Greek word Paul uses for "work together" is synergeo, where we get the word synergy. It's the picture of many different ingredients coming together to produce one beautiful outcome. Alone, the ingredients may seem meaningless—or even unpleasant. But in the hands of the Master, nothing is wasted. God is working behind the scenes while we only see one page of the story. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths from Romans 8:28: 1. God Is Working Through It — Even when you can't see His hand, God hasn't stopped working. He's active in every victory, every setback, every heartbreak, and every unanswered prayer. 2. God's Good Is Greater Than Your Comfort — God's definition of "good" isn't an easier life. It's a life that looks more like Jesus. He's more committed to your character than your comfort. 3. God Never Wastes A Season — Every delay, every disappointment, every trial, and every waiting season matters. God is weaving together a story that's bigger than what you can currently see. Ultimately, the greatest picture of Romans 8:28 is the cross itself. What looked like the greatest tragedy in history became the greatest victory. If God could bring salvation from a cross, He can bring purpose from your pain. Final Application: * What situation in your life feels confusing right now? * What disappointment still hurts? * What prayer remains unanswered? * Can you trust that God is still working—even when you cannot see how? Because all things are not good. But God is. And He is working all things together for good.
