After a stellar career in financial services, she left for 17 years to raise her kids, and was as busy in that role as a fundraiser and event organizer as she had ever been at work. So when she was ready to get back to work at age 50- and decided Tech was her next frontier, she was in for a very rude- and humbling- awakening. Despite her undeniable track record of success, the world was not excited to welcome her back. Her story will inspire you and frustrate you. And this story is not just a mom’s story- it’s a lesson for all.

Christy Samad: The Passionate and Dedicated Cincinnati FanGirl

Christy Samad knows how to network the way to getting a job- and to getting her job done. As a recent graduate of University of Cincinnati working as a waitress at a local restaurant known for power breakfasts, she “eavesdropped” her way to her first job. (Okay, some may call it creeping on the conversations of random customers, but I digress) All she knew was that she wanted a role promoting her beloved city and boom, she got it. And now, eleven years later, she is the VP of Events for The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC), and as she says “bringing life to spaces and places”.
