Beskrivelse

What started as a conversation about summer water activities turned into so much more that we had to come back for a second episode. And as it turns out, F is for Floaties Part Two is also a special milestone—our one-year anniversary of The F-It Podcast. To celebrate, we welcome our very first guest: a longtime friend we've known since our teenage years. She joins us to share stories from her days working as a lifeguard in the Wisconsin Dells, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic summer jobs imaginable and some of the memorable experiences that came with it. The conversation naturally drifts into memories of high school summers spent at her parents' house on the lake, where countless afternoons were filled with swimming, boating, laughter, and the kind of stories that only seem to get better with age. Along the way, we take a brief detour into camping—because no conversation about summer is ever completely safe from a camping story—but eventually find our way back to the water. To close things out, we talk about some of our favorite places to spend time on the water, including the Chippew  Flowage and the great lakes , reflecting on what makes these places so memorable and why being near the water remains such a big part of summer. Part nostalgia, part reunion, and part anniversary celebration, this episode is a reminder of why we started this podcast in the first place: sharing stories, laughing with friends, and occasionally finding our way back to the topic we were supposed to be discussing. episode F is for Floaties Part One cover

F is for Floaties Part One

In F is for Floaties Part One, we share stories about summer water adventures, from epic water park trips and favorite attractions to lazy days floating in the sun. We talk about what makes water parks such a timeless summer tradition, why lake days never seem to get old, and how some of our best summer memories have happened with nothing more than friends, family, water, and a little free time. Along the way, we explore how our relationship with summer fun has changed over the years—from kids looking for the biggest slide and deepest pool to adults trying to squeeze every bit of fun out of a busy summer schedule. What started as a simple conversation about water activities quickly turned into something much bigger. In fact, we realized there was far more to discuss than we could fit into a single episode. So consider this the first splash into the topic, because F is for Floaties will be continuing in Part Two. Grab your sunscreen, inflate your floatie, and join us as we kick off a celebration of one of summer's greatest traditions: spending time on the water. episode F is for Fallen cover

F is for Fallen

In this special Memorial Day episode of The F-It Podcast, we take a step back from the cookouts, long weekends, and unofficial start of summer to talk about what the holiday is truly meant to honor. “F is for Fallen” explores the origins of  and how it differs from holidays like Veteran's Day. We discuss why Memorial Day carries a different weight—serving as a day of remembrance for the men and women who gave their lives in service to the country. The conversation also looks at some of the traditions and symbols that have become part of our national memory, including , the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the quiet moments of reflection that remind us what sacrifice really means. From the Civil War to more recent conflicts overseas, we talk about the lasting impact these sacrifices have had on families, communities, and the country itself—and why remembering them still matters today. This episode isn’t about politics or headlines. It’s about respect, remembrance, and taking the time to recognize the people who never made it home. episode F is for Flip Flop cover

F is for Flip Flop

Summer is coming in hot, and in this episode of The F-It Podcast, we shift into full warm-weather mode. “F is for Flip Flop” We start with travel plans and the idea of getting back to the basics of summer: heading up north to , lake days, bonfires, and trying to convince families that camping is still worth the effort. From there, the guys lay out their own summer goals—some serious, some absolutely not. That includes things like getting miles on an ATV, chasing more outdoor time, and just saying yes to things that get you outside. But it also turns a corner into the more honest side of summer: getting back into shape, feeling better day-to-day, and using the longer days as a reset instead of just a break. At its core, this episode is about reclaiming summer in your 40s—not trying to relive your teenage years, but figuring out how to still make the season feel like something worth remembering. Flip flops on, expectations low, and goals just ambitious enough to matter. Find us at The F-It Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, or X. episode F is for Fancy cover

F is for Fancy

In this episode of The F-It Podcast, we kick things off with prom—looking back at how simple it used to be versus what it’s become today. From casually asking someone to go, to the modern-day “promposal” and the added pressure of social media, we break down how the experience has evolved and what that says about growing up now. We shift gears to the spectacle of the Kentucky Derby  and how it’s turned into more than just a race—it’s a full-on celebration of bold, vibrant formal wear and American tradition. It’s one of the few places left where dressing up isn’t just expected—it’s part of the show. We also reflect on our own weddings—what we wore, what we cared about at the time, and how our perspective on formal wear has changed since then. To wrap it all up, we take a step back and talk about how dressing up has evolved for us—from teenagers trying to figure it out, to guys in our 40s who (mostly) understand what matters now. Because at the end of the day, being “fancy” isn’t about the outfit—it’s about the moments you’re showing up for. Find us at The F-It Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, or X.
