Episode 3 - Screenwriting

Today's episode is on screenwriting. We discuss the Academy Award winning film Moonlight and the TV shows The West Wing and Happy Valley. We talk about how they are effective and what lessons can be learned from them. We also have an interview with Tom Bidwell, the writer of E4's My Mad Fat Diary about his writing and the current statew of the TV industry.

Today's episode is all about poetry. We have an interview with the poet Andrew McMillan, whose first collection "physical" won The Guardian First Book Award in 2015. Andrew discusses how his love for poetry began and his experiences with success and how being a Creative Writing Lecturer at LJMU has influenced him. We also have live readings by Amina Atiq, Lou Reed Foster and Tanya Guvi.
