Common Good
Thank you, Netta Fei, and everyone who joined us for this inspired conversation. It feels like old times when we get together—like we’ve done this before and will do it again in person soon. Netta Fei read from her new book, The Book of Burnett: 42 Truths for Living Life Well, Fully, and Without Regret. I keep thinking about her father’s statement that he had no regrets in his life. This is what we all want, in our hearts. Nothing left on the table. True Self, as Netta Fei says. We want full integrity, we want full, orgasmic LIFE. We’ve just been told we have to play it safe and small. We also reflected on our women’s council on Sunday (for some reason, I don’t have the recording; this is the first time this has happened), and on the decree we agreed upon. Thank you to everybody who participated; your presence was essential. I’ve classified it as a ‘public notice’ now because it includes two decrees and orders—an order of surrender by all those who have done harm to a woman or child, and an order of debt repayment to the commons. I’ve built a website and am working with Mr. Jones [https://www.tiktok.com/@pretendphilosopher?lang=en](our council meeting moderator) and other colleagues on logistics. This is a very big idea that needs time to flesh out the details. I’ve been saying that women are the law. Yes. And men are the order. That was the missing piece. I’m glad to have a man to speak about the order with. As Netta Fei says, her husband is a loving caretaker. But he also owns a glock.
