Hello everyone and welcome to the JourneyPure Podcast. I am your host, Tim Stoddart. In this week's episode, I sit down with the always impressive and inspiring Dr. Stephen Loyd. Dr Loyd is JourneyPure's the chief medical director. But Dr. Lloyd is more than that. He is a man in recovery who has reshaped his passion for medicine and applied it to helping treat people with substance use disorder. Dr. Loyd has practiced internal medicine for two decades. He served as an expert witness for the U.S. Attorney, F.B.I and D.E.A against doctors improperly prescribing addictive medications. Dr. Loyd is also a member of the Tennessee governor's sub cabinet and associate professor at East Tennessee State University. In this episode, Dr. Loyd and I talk about why he is so passionate about helping people, but more specifically, why he focused on serving the kinds of people who are traditionally seen as "challenging." For instance, JourneyPure is one of the few treatment facilities that actively treats pregnant women, and Dr. Loyd is a pioneer in the field to treating this important yet vulnerable sub set of patients who suffer from substance use disorder. Hear first hand how Dr. Loyd tackles these challenges head on, and the inspirational success stories from the women (and their children) who have gone through the process. I know you will enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Dr. Loyd is an inspiration both to the team at JourneyPure, but also to the medical profession as a whole. With all that said, please enjoy this conversation with Dr. Stephen Loyd.
