Beskrivelse

In episode 4 of The Mediated Mind, Andrea Stultiens speaks with Walter Costa about his installation ‘Autolykos Collection’, shown in NP3 during the Noorderlicht Festival 2021. Walter Costa (1987) combines photography with his interest in social issues and seeks new ways of using photography as an instrument for public debate. In his research project, ‘Autokylos Collection, ’ Walter uses photography to reveal the illegal supply chain of historical artefacts sold through private groups on Facebook. In line with the growing awareness of cultural heritage and appropriation, the looting and offering for sale of these artefacts is an increasingly common and listed crime.
