episode Walking for Men's Mental Health: Our 12 mile challenge cover

Beskrivelse

In the first episode of Season 7, we look back on our 12-mile charity walk from Merry Hill to Birmingham city centre in aid of Andy's Man Club. From bacon sandwich temptations in the opening stages and unexpected roadside encouragement to aching feet, Whisper Gold-fuelled determination and a finish line complete with medals, banners and cheering supporters, we relive every step of the challenge. We also reveal how much we've raised so far, reflect on what the experience taught us about fitness, mental health and pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones, and discuss why staying active in midlife is going to be a bigger focus for us moving forward. As part of that journey, we're proud to be supporting Age UK's Act Now, Age Better [https://www.ageuk.org.uk/get-involved/act-now/] campaign throughout Season 7. Most importantly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, encouraged and helped us smash our original fundraising target for Andy's Man Club. There's still time to donate if you'd like to support the cause via our JustGiving page [https://www.justgiving.com/page/bodcast-1772293765658?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL]. 📱 Follow The Middle-aged Bodcast Online! 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast [https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast/] 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast [https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast/] 🐦 Twitter/X: https://x.com/MidagedBodcast [https://x.com/MidagedBodcast] 🔵 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social [https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social] 🌐 Website: https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk [https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk/] If you've enjoyed listening, we'd love it if you could follow the podcast, leave us a review and drop us a comment. Best Of The Bodcast: No Fly Travel

We're bringing you a 'Best Of' featuring clips from something we never expected to cover so in-depth on the Bodcast: No Fly Travel. It all started with a random article Rich read about Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon setting up an Instagram page, which ended up with Liz herself appearing on the Bodcast! To top it all off, T.A. was so inspired by Liz's no fly travel story, that he and Mrs. Shelano booked a train only holiday across Europe. This episode features clips from the following: * Coffee Shop Frustrations and Real World Connections (Season 3) [https://pod.fo/e/2b6f12] * Liz McClarnon: Atomic Kitten, Celebrity MasterChef & No Fly Traveller (Season 4) [https://pod.fo/e/2dac66] * No Fly, No Regrets: A 2,500-Mile Train Journey (Season 5) [https://pod.fo/e/36f58a] Follow No Fly Traveller on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/no_fly_traveller/] 📱 Follow The Middle-aged Bodcast Online! 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast [https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast/] 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast [https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast/] 🐦 Twitter/X: https://x.com/MidagedBodcast [https://x.com/MidagedBodcast] 🔵 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social [https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social] 🌐 Website: https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk [https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk/] ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. Repost: Caralyn Dreyer on Mental Health, Identity & Finding Strength in Recovery

Hi Bodcasters, we're still gearing up for the charity walk at the end of May and Season 7 starting in June. So, we're bringing you a couple of reposts before some bonus content. This week, we're revisiting our Season 4 chat with Caralyn Dreyer, talking mental health and rediscovering yourself. Original episode description In this powerful and honest episode of The Middle-aged Bodcast, Rich and T.A. chat with Caralyn Dreyer: mental health blogger, single mum, and advocate - about her journey through depression, anxiety, adoption, eating disorders, and rebuilding her identity. Caralyn opens up about growing up as a biracial adoptee in a predominantly white community, surviving abusive relationships, and what finally led her to speak publicly about her struggles. She shares how launching her blog Darkness to Dialogue helped her connect with others and reclaim her voice - despite her social anxiety and years of self-doubt. Expect open discussion on: * Breaking stigma around mental health * Living well with depression and anxiety * The complexities of identity and belonging * Postpartum depression and parenting through pain * How sharing your story can help others feel less alone Caralyn’s warmth, humour, and resilience shine through in this heartfelt conversation that reminds us why honesty and empathy matter – especially in midlife. 📌 Find Caralyn's blog: caralyndreyer.blogspot.com [https://caralyndreyer.blogspot.com/] 📱 Follow Caralyn on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/caralyn_dreyer/], Twitter/X [https://x.com/DreyerCara], TikTok [https://www.tiktok.com/@thecaralyndreyer] and more - just search her name! 📱 Follow The Middle-aged Bodcast Online! 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast [https://www.instagram.com/midagedbodcast/] 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast [https://www.facebook.com/middleagedbodcast/] 🐦 Twitter/X: https://x.com/MidagedBodcast [https://x.com/MidagedBodcast] 🔵 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social [https://bsky.app/profile/middleagedbodcast.bsky.social] 🌐 Website: https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk [https://middleagedbodcast.co.uk/] 🎧 Listen, share, and join the conversation.
