Beskrivelse

In this episode of The Music in Me, I dive into one of the most exciting times of the year for Broadway fans — Tony Awards season! I take a closer look at the 2026 Tony nominees for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical, including The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titaníque, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Ragtime, Cats: The Jellicle Ball, and The Rocky Horror Show. Even though I didn’t know much about some of these musicals before the nominations were announced, that is exactly why I love doing episodes like this. It gives me the chance to discover new Broadway shows, explore incredible music and stories, and share my excitement with all of you along the way. I talk about vampire rock musicals, hilarious comedy parodies, emotional historical storytelling, bold Broadway revivals, cult musical fandoms, and why theater continues reinventing itself year after year. I also share my personal Tony predictions, the musicals I most want to see, and my disappointment over Beaches and Jessica Vosk being left out of the nominations. If you love Broadway, musical theater, Tony Awards discussions, or just discovering new musicals to become obsessed with, this episode is for you! Moms in Musicals: The Women Who Shape Us

In this special Mother’s Day episode of The Music in Me, I’m diving into one of the most meaningful themes in all of musical theatre—mothers and the many ways they shape our lives. From loving and supportive moms to complicated relationships, from fierce protectors to moments of loss and longing, I explore how musicals capture the beauty, messiness, and depth of motherhood in all its forms. I also take time to celebrate the joyful, playful side of being a mom and share some of my favorite musical theatre songs that honor these incredible women. Along the way, I reflect personally on the mothers and mother figures in my own life, including my mom, my sister, and my niece, who is celebrating her very first Mother’s Day this year. This episode is heartfelt, emotional, and full of love, and I hope it reminds you of the songs—and the people—that make you feel seen, supported, and loved. 💐🎶 SONGS MENTIONED... * Days and Days from Fun Home * Everything I Know from In The Heights * Slipping Through My Fingers from Mamma Mia! * Mama Who Bore Me from Spring Awakening * She Used to Be Mine from Waitress * Everything Changes from Waitress * Stay With Me from Into the Woods * Home from Beetlejuice * Motherhood from Hello Dolly! * Rose’s Turn from Gypsy * So Big / So Small from Dear Evan Hansen * Back to Before from Ragtime * How Could I Ever Forget?
