Two men, formerly secret disciples of Jesus but certainly no more, are at work on a dark and dreary Friday afternoon, frantically trying to wrap the body of Jesus according to Jewish burial customs by sundown. Not finished, but as best as they can be for the moment, they and some of the women form a pauper’s funeral procession at best, leading to the borrowed tomb. They laid the body of the Savior on a stone slab, barely beating the nightfall. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus: hidden heroes, in a sense. Awed by the Spirit of Revival

A Night of Pits and Prisons

Glory Falls on Gethsemane

Oh, the confidence of our Lord on the night of His arrest! From how He prayed for the Father’s will while the disciples slept to how He stepped out from behind an olive tree to meet His accusers, who were 600 strong. But the greatest show of confidence was the blast of glory that fell upon that hillside. So powerful that it blew the armies back – and even laid them out on the ground momentarily.
