Ep. 45: Our top 10 fantasy directors! No, not fantasies like that… Well maybe. OK no not like that.

We are once again taking on the difficult task of deciding who our top 10 directors are, this time it's within the fantasy genre. Now, fantasy can incorporate a whole lot of things but as always we set up some guidelines so that our selections are made a bit more sensible and with this list, we're at the halfway point of our movie genre favorites. Some of these are no-brainers and you'll be surprised at what we left out because the directors didn't have more than one or two fantasy movies under their belts. Plus catch-up what we have been listening to and let us know if you agree with our selections!

Ep. 44: Is it really selling out if nobody's buying?

For as long as people have been creative, the topic of selling out has also unfortunately been present. Fortunately, for us, we decide to tackle or begin to tackle what it might mean to sell out. Of course we lay down some definitions so that we're not all over the place completely but we also pose some questions and provide examples as to what a sellout in a creative space could be or might not be but we tend to think of them as such because we don't like the direction the creative types are going. Ep. 43: Don't call it a comeback, he's been Pete for years + first installation of TRRP Friends Club

Aside from including very cool ponds in our title, we also have a very cool guest once again. Gracing our halls at TRRP compound once again is Mr. Pete Majors! You know him, you love him and you know he's the fabulous host of the Idlewild experimental music festival, and it's third installation and happening in Idlewild California! Additionally, Pete joins us to talk about not just one of our favorite albums but also one of his, coincidentally that album is the Danzig self titled first album, released in 1988. As we wax poetic on the rumblings of one Mr. Glenn Anzalone and Company, this also serves as the introductory episode of the TRRP friends club which is going to serve as a way to invite our friends and talk about albums we all enjoy of course starting with this one. Record Store Day or RSD, if you're into the whole brevity thing started off as a great idea, to get people's attention back into supporting independent record shops and luckily for us, this also helped bring about the resurgence of vinyl and vinyl collecting a couple of decades ago. But as with every good idea, doesn't always stay as pure as the intent might have been? We do a little digging around and add our collective two cents into the conversation of whether this biannual event is worth it for the consumer and the locations hosting these events.
