He called their struggles 'legitimate and necessary' and praised them as 'social poets.' But a new 144-page report from the Lepanto Institute rips the mask off. Many of these so-called popular movements are steeped in Marxism — openly celebrating Karl Marx, pushing socialist revolution, and demanding abortion and radical LGBT policies. And it gets darker. Part Two of the investigation shows several of these organizations are also practicing outright paganism: Mayan shamans invoking spirits and Nawales, Candomblé rituals with spirit possession and offerings to Orixás, and 'mistica' ceremonies worshiping Mother Earth as divine. One group even gifted the Holy Father a tapestry honoring a pagan spirit. All of this is being brought inside the Church under the banners of 'synodality' and 'accompaniment.'
