Ep 2: There's always a detour

So, why these choices? Why am I drawn to these side projects instead of diving straight into developing songs for the third album, something I've been vocal about wanting to do?

Ep 1: 3 Weeks

As you can imagine, my guitar usually goes with me everywhere I travel - and this Brisbane trip was no exception, although, as can happen when you’re away from your usual, there wasn’t a lot of opportunities to hide away and play. So I tried something else - I mapped out the album in words. All the song titles, even some tempos and time signatures, their subject matter and their artistic inspiration. The anticipation of that first night back in the studio was palpable. And to my amazement, within 27 minutes, I found myself immersed in a creative whirlwind, sketching out musical ideas for not one, not two, but eight potential songs. It's a testament to the unpredictable nature of inspiration. It’s never happened to me before and may never again.
