episode Episode 89: The Four Lies Satan Told Eve: Do We Still Believe Them Today? cover

Beskrivelse

Y'all, this one is good. John and Kim examine one of the oldest con jobs in history—the four lies Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden. And here's the kicker: He's still running the same playbook today. Not a single update. Same lies, same MO, and the same enemy trying to keep us from God’s greatest blessings. Satan didn't show up with horns and a pitchfork. He slithered in with questions about God's character, planting just enough doubt to get Eve to make a decision that plunged the entire human race into a broken world. And here is a point that is VERY illuminating: Satan has to lie. He can't tell us the truth and expect us to follow him. What he has to offer would never tempt us away from what God gives us anymore than we would EVER prefer to eat rotten fruit over fresh fruit. John and Kim lay out all four lies straight from Genesis 3, break down what God actually said, and then get real about whether we're still believing and following these same lies today—in our universities, our culture, our churches, and honestly, in our own heads. Truth Bomb: Many times we are! But the good news? We don't have to.

Episode 93: The Serious Implications of rejecting the Holy Spirit

Building on last week's conversation about the incredible benefits of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life, this episode turns the lens around and looks honestly at the serious implications of rejecting Him. Three words form the foundation of this conversation: quench, grieve, and resist — each drawn directly from Scripture and speaking to a different dimension of the implications of pushing the Holy Spirit away. From the slow dimming of a neglected flame to the deep personal sorrow of a wounded relationship, Kimberly and John bring these theological concepts down to where the rubber meets the road — each daily choice. This isn't a guilt trip. It's a reality check — and an invitation. Because the same Spirit who draws the unsaved to salvation is the One who empowers the believer for transformation, intercession, and victory in spiritual warfare.  Whether you've been a believer for decades or you're still discovering God for who he says he is, this episode will challenge you to ask the hard questions — and discover answers that will elevate your walk with God to a place where even the hardest of times becomes an incredible opportunity.

Episode 92: Come, Meet the Holy Spirit: Who He Is and What He Does

There are truths about the Holy Spirit that, once you truly understand them, change everything about how you live your daily life. In this episode of the Truth in Love Podcast, Kimberly and her dad John take a deep, personal look at who the Holy Spirit is and what he actually does in the life of every born again believer. This isn't just a theological survey. It's an invitation to begin living in more than a fraction of the Spirit's presence in your life. They cover the Old Testament — where the Spirit moved in specific, powerful ways, gifting craftsmen, transforming cowards into commanders, and empowering kings — before turning to Jesus' own promise to send a Helper who would abide in every believer. From there, the conversation gets personal: three remarkable ways the Holy Spirit works in us individually — making God's Word come alive, interceding in our prayers when we don't even know what to ask, and transforming us from the inside out. If you've ever felt like your prayers hit the ceiling, wondered why your Bible reading sometimes feels flat, or found yourself fighting life's battles with a squirt gun instead of a fire hose — this episode is for you.

episode Episode 91: What Is the Cure for Spiritual Anxiety? cover

Episode 91: What Is the Cure for Spiritual Anxiety?

Anxiety is one of the most universal struggles of our time — and if we're honest, it doesn't always loosen its grip just because we've been born again. We try to manage it. We schedule it away. We work out, we scroll, we talk to a therapist, we set 6PM rules. And sometimes those things offer a little relief. But relief and cure are two very different things. In this episode, Kimberly and her dad John are tackling what's actually at the root of spiritual anxiety — and more importantly, what God says the cure is.  The world has plenty of tools for managing the symptom. But God went after the cause. And the cause — that gaping, restless, relentless thirst that no routine, no relationship, no therapy, and no amount of willpower can fully satisfy — is a soul that was made for relationship with God and is trying to survive without it. Romans 1 makes it clear.  But here's what keeps coming up in this conversation: the cure is not a technique. It is God. And He's already extended the invitation. The question is whether we will accept the invitation and revel in the relationship daily, not just when it suits us or we are in crisis mode.

Episode 90: The Church: A Nation Without Borders

No matter where in the world you're listening from — whether you're in New Zealand, Nigeria, France, or right here in North American — you know what it feels like to belong to a nation. You know your flag, your food, your music, your history. That sense of belonging runs deep. It's who you are at your core. But here's what the Word of God lays out so beautifully, and what just lit me up when I first heard it taught by Dr. Kenny Francis: the church is literally called a nation in Scripture. Not a metaphor. Not an analogy. A holy nation — with its own language, its own culture, its own attitudes, its own music — and a belonging that outlasts every border and every flag that's ever flown. In this episode, Dad and I dig into what that really means — from the seismic shift of Pentecost to the structure of the local church community, from First Peter to Philippians. We talk about what makes us recognizable as citizens of this spiritual nation, and why that identity has to be the deepest one we carry. This isn't just theology. This is your story — and mine.
