TJ Talks
The BENCHISTA – International Benchmarking of Childhood Cancer Survival by Tumor stage – project is a worldwide collaboration led by University College London (UCL) and Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan (INT) aiming to better understand the reasons behind international differences in paediatric cancer survival: the project highlights the importance of high-quality data collected through population-based cancer registries as the essential first step in encouraging healthcare systems to invest seriously in improving care for their populations. In this TJ Talks podcast – by Dr Laura Botta (Evaluative Epidemiology Unit at INT) – Professor Kathy Pritchard-Jones, Emeritus Professor of Paediatric Oncology at UCL and former President of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), explains how the BENCHISTA project is evolving and how the use of its data could contribute to further improvements in survival outcomes for children with cancer.
