Trainspotters is a fortnightly show on 1BTN in Brighton 101.4FM, DAB+ and online, presented by Ian Lawton and guests. Think bleeps, broken beats, dub, grime jazz, neo-soul, dream pop, Afro-futurism, space disco, Ron Trent house, desert blues, ambient and neo-classical ... This is the spirit of Trainspotters. I aim to please the anorak inside of you. I play an eclectic mix of great music with an ear for the over looked and under appreciated. Guests, if deemed anorak enough, are invited onto the show to deliver choonage from their deep 'record bags' and they are generally even bigger trainspotters than I am. The More Fyah crew, Edi Yoyo and Artemis Roots, were in the studio spinning some killer reggae tunes ahead of their night at Komedia Fri 7th Dec. We talked about the Dende Sound System and their regular club night in Brighton.
This week the guest on Trainspotters was Leroy Horns of Resonators. We chatted about the Brighton reggae institution Dub Organiser, about Leroy's new solo record and his favourite reggae sax players. We also played a load of great reggae and dub and gave details of a vinyl giveaway for advance ticket purchasers for the gig 9 Nov at Komedia Brighton.
