More Ramblings from A Grumpy Old Man… Are you sick of the anti-Israeli protesters. I am. But honestly I have never thought much about pro-Israeli or pro-Palestinian groups. Those people have been fighting since 1882 when an Arab man was accidentally shot by a Jewish guard during a wedding. Every time you think the dust has settled there, a conflict springs back up. It’s beyond tedious. But, to paraphrase the late Andy Rooney, I have Jewish friends. Good, upstanding people they are. They don’t seem any different than my non-Jewish friends. They put their pants on one leg at a time, breathe the same air, and bleed red just like me. I do have empathy for them in this most recent battle. I don’t think I know any Palestinians, though. I’m sure there are many good ones who only want peace.

Inside The House of Deadbeats

Congressional Deadbeats presently have an approval rating of 12%, about the same as dirt. Disgraced president Richard Nixon’s approval rating never got that low. Inept president Jimmy Carter’s rating never got that low. George Santos from NY was recently expelled from Congress. His 13% favorability rating was higher than the collective body tossing him out. Members of Deadbeat Nation are paid $174,000 per year, plus the unconstitutional payout they voted themselves last year of $34,000 for expenses encountered in the Swamp. None of that expense has to be documented – they all just get it. This makes their salary, according to my Chebanse Elementary education, to be $208,000 per Deadbeat. They are paid higher than 93% of Americans. The Deadbeats were in session “working” a mere 117 days in the last term. Only fifty bills have been passed under their governance, about half what is normal. They spend as much or more time begging for money to stay in their cushy position in the Swamp than working for us.

J6 Committee Corruption

Respected journalist Mollie Hemingway and The Federalist has reported that Liz Cheney and her Cabal suppressed evidence during the sham January 6th committee proceedings. Turns out Trump requested 10,000 National Guard troops to be present for assistance at the Capitol for the gathering crowd. This information has been hidden from us for over three years. You may want to read that last sentence again. The Cheney Cabal falsely claimed they had no evidence to support Trump’s claims he offered troop assistance. This information came from the interview of Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato that Cheney herself participated in January 2022. Oranato’s description of the events match that of testimony by Kash Patel, the former acting secretary of defense. In the interview, Ornato stated he heard White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on the phone advising DC Mayor Muriel Bowser for troops to defend the city. He also testified under oath that Trump suggested 10,000 soldiers were needed at the rallies scheduled for January 6. Both Trump backers and left-wing groups were planning protests the same day.

Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption

“ANDY CAME TO SHAWSHANK PRISON IN EARLY 1947 FOR MURDERING HIS WIFE AND THE FELLA SHE WAS BANGIN’.“ That was the famous line spoken by Morgan Freeman, aka Ellis “Red” Redman in the movie The Shawshank Redemption. How old were you when you found out that the movie was filmed at an Ohio State Reformatory rather than the fictional Maine prison the story led us to believe.  Did you also know the movie was adapted from a book written by Stephen King named Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. Me neither. Tim Robbins got the leading role as Andy Dufresne, sentenced to life for the murders of his wife and her lover,despite his innocence. Interestingly, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and Kevin Costner all wanted the part of Andy. Could you imagine any one of those others in that role instead of Robbins? Me neither. Personally, Morgan Freeman as Red,the contraband smuggler was the best character in the movie. His acting was superb, his narration even better. The prison where the movie was shot is equally interesting. Located in Mansfield Ohio, construction began in 1886 on ground formerly used as a training camp for Northern Civil War soldiers. After many funding delays, the facility was completed 24 years later in 1910 at a cost of $1,326,769.

Presidential Popularity Polls

Webster tells us a scholar is a person who has done advanced study in a special field. It also calls a scholar a learned person. I’m going to show how that is not always true. Consider Webster’s words as you read the politically biased rubbish that 154 so-called-scholars unleashed for the liberal media to gobble and regurgitate last week. As gleefully reported by the main-stream media, “scholars” produced a presidential rating system that, of no surprise, ranks Donald Trump as the worst president in history. Those so-called scholars might have as well thrown a ham hock into the middle of a pack of coyotes to match the feeding frenzy by the media. We shouldn’t be surprised of a last-placed ranking for Trump by a band of collegiate professors. The report smacks of so much malarky that it points out the rot exists in American academia. Sadly, most professors today have about as much credibility as an Anthony Fauci report.  Pathetically, these 154 “scholars” rated Joe Biden the 14th best president of all time, and then Barack Obama 7th. Go ahead and chuckle now before continuing to listen.
