Episode 32: Mikey Aytes/John Borruso - Two Very Different Journeys lead to one common ground

In this episode, Mikey Aytes and John Borruso, both retired police officers, now personal trainers with Anytime Fitness in Wesley Chapel, NC, talk about their two very different life paths that led them to the same result after their law enforcement careers ended, still helping and serving, but this time in the fitness industry.  This episode is very different than our others shows but I am confident you will enjoy this show very much. Sit back, enjoy the show as Mikey and John take us along for the ride and share their life's story and why they continue to do what they both love to do! Mikey is a certified personal trainer and a lifelong union county resident. He was also in the service, and overseas in the army for 6 years. After completing his time in the military, he started his law enforcement career of 26 years. His last assignment was as a resource officer at Weddington middle and high schools. Due to his prior line of work, fitness and nutrition have been extremely important to him. He is excited, passionate and committed to this new adventure, and looks forward to helping others be the best version of themselves. Say hello to Mikey when you see him! John comes to us from New York City, where he served for over 2 decades with the NYPD, first as a Police Officer then as a Sergeant. As a 9/11 first responder, and as a first responder in general, he learned first hand the importance of physical fitness. It is his goal to help others reach their goals.  Contact: John Borruso  Instagram: @coach_johnbo Mikey Aytes Facebook: @MikeyAytes Please remember to share this show or episode with a friend or someone you think would benefit from our program.  As always, thanks for listening and remember, when in doubt, ask yourself, Why Not Me, Why Not Now? episode Episode 30: Kammi Kurtz - Overcoming Obstacles, Fighting The Unknown, Never Underestimate Your Full Potential cover

Episode 30: Kammi Kurtz - Overcoming Obstacles, Fighting The Unknown, Never Underestimate Your Full Potential

Meet Kammi Kurtz, an ER Travel Nurse, Nutrition Coach and Certified Personal Trainers. Kammi is one of the fitness and health industry's top leaders in helping many be the best versions of themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. Kammi, shares her personal journey with her health struggles that ultimately changed what she knew best. What impressed me the most about Kammi was that she did not let those obstacles change who she was. Instead, she took the challenge and turned it into a positive outcome to help others. Relying on her faith and with the help of others, Kammi started to her journey to reshape her path meant for her. Here's a little more on Kammi: Kammi is dedicated to helping others reach their full potential and who the Lord created them to be by taking care of their health and their bodies and growing through life. I grew up as an athlete and went through my health trials in high school that ultimately gave me the passion I have today when it comes to health, gut health, and health and wellness. Being a former soccer athlete, the Lord took me on a totally different path and I ended up running Division 1 Cross Country and Track & Field in college at Liberty University where I also got my nursing degree and now work as a travel nurse in the emergency department. Because of what Kammi went through in high school and now being a nurse taking care of others, she does her best to lead by example and from the front when it comes to my own personal health and wellness journey.  Kammi currently takes the “hybrid” training approach, which she has been doing for about 4 years since graduating college and has been her favorite style of training. Kammi has also completed a full Ironman triathlon and hopes to do more in the future! Through her story, Kammi hopes someone can be encouraged that you are capable and made for so much more. Setbacks are always opportunities for growth and comebacks! If we just aim to get 1% better each day, you never know where we’ll end up. Kammi's favorites: Bible scripture is Romans 8:18, 1st Corinthians 10:31 Favorite Book Purpose Driven Life Favorite Podcasts: Ed Mylett, Inky Johnson Favorite Probiotics: Opti Greens, Gut Institute Contact Kammi: Instagram: @the_fitging
