This episode features Yara Bou Harb '26 and Alonnie Celestine '26. Yara Bou Harb '26, an international student from Lebanon, graduated with a degree in Neuroscience and double concentrations in Biology and Chemistry. During her four years at Xavier, Yara distinguished herself as a student-athlete, campus leader, and advocate for student wellness. She served as Miss Gold Rush (2025–2026), President of the International Student Association, Vice President of the Association of Student Athletes, a MAX Site Coordinator, and a Sexual Assault Prevention and Health Educator, all while competing as a member of the Xavier Women's Basketball team. Following graduation, Yara joined Cingulum Health in New Orleans as a TMS Technician and hopes to continue advancing the field of computational neuroscience while one day bringing her expertise back to her home country of Lebanon. Joining her is Alonnie Celestine '26, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Healthand a minor in Political Science, earning honors in both disciplines. Throughout her time at Xavier, Alonnie exemplified academic excellence and servant leadership as Chapter President of the Gamma Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Student Government Association Chief of Staff, and Treasurer of Vincent's Vault Food Pantry, among many other campus leadership roles. This fall, Alonnie will begin pursuing her Master of Business Administration at McNeese State University while working at the Lake Charles District Attorney's Office, gaining valuable legal experience as she prepares for a future in law school and a career dedicated to justice and public service. Join us as Yara and Alonnie reflect on the experiences that shaped their Xavier journeys, discuss how leadership, service, and community prepared them for life after graduation, and share how they plan to remain engaged as Xavier alumni. From navigating life as an international student at an HBCU to leading with purpose across campus organizations, this conversation celebrates the resilience, excellence, and global impact of the Class of 2026, reminding us that the Xavier mission extends far beyond commencement.
