Ep. 044: Amber Henry | Be Inspired Photography Podcast
Wedding and portrait photographer Amber Henry on the Be Inspired Photography Podcast. Listen to Patrick Clarke chat with wedding and portrait photographer Amber Henry about how you can work smarter, the language of love and giving your clients amazing memories. Amber Henry Bio: Amber Henry is a self-taught, published and award-winning photographer, specialising in weddings and portraiture. Amber has been featured in Professional Photography Magazine, as well as instructing for PPA. Having three sons at home, Amber is good at multi-tasking and taking care of other people’s needs. Starting her career in one of the smallest towns in Michigan, while herself dependent on welfare, she learned quickly how to take beautiful images under very unappealing circumstances. Studying lighting and posing through online courses, reading and reaching out to industry leaders, helped her create images of her clients that made them look and feel like magazine-worthy models, and her reputation quickly grew as “The” wedding photographer to get. Photography was the key to Amber taking her family out of poverty and into a wonderfully happy and fulfilling life. Amber is a fighter, someone who can find the best in any situation. She always goes above and beyond for every client, never settling or depending on the minimum. She imagines herself as the client, and tries to photograph them in a way that she would a person whom she loves; bringing out the very best and helping them to shine. Amber believes that no matter what your circumstances or background, reaching the place you dream of is absolutely possible – with tears, determination, a lot of late nights and the right amount of guts, sweat and passion. episode Ep. 042: George Karbus | Be Inspired Photography Podcast artwork
Ep. 042: George Karbus | Be Inspired Photography Podcast
Outdoor and wildlife photographer George Karbus on the Be Inspired Photography Podcast. Listen to Patrick Clarke chat with wild ocean photographer George Karbus about how to shoot amazing wildlife photography, creating your editing game plan and making friends with a wild dolphin. George Karbus Bio: When George arrived in Ireland 11 years ago, he was armed with a true love of the ocean that belied his land-locked upbringing in the Czech Republic. He funded his first professional camera by working as a porter in a Galway hotel and from that point dedicated himself fully and completely to photographing Ireland’s emerald coastline. It certainly paid off and in 2009 he was awarded the Nature’s Best Photography Award, one of the most prestigious and world-recognised photography accolades. In recent years he has also won Outdoor Photographer of the Year and his talents have gained him national and international recognition. In the wild excitement of the Atlantic coastline, he captures moments of calm and serenity, the fragmented colours of dawn breaking, viewed from the sea and gazing onto the land. He is out there, waiting, watching and photographing while most of us are curled up sleeping on cold winter mornings. Imagine giant gliding whales in crystal clear Atlantic depths or world class surfers barrelling inches overhead as George holds his breath for impossible lengths of time dangerously close to the breaking waters. It takes more than just an artistic eye to encapsulate this on camera and George lives and breathes his work. It is his passion. It is his way of life. He is an experienced surfer and free-diver and spends every day of the year in the water, preparing, practising and keeping fit. He is settled in Lahinch with his young family and together they can be found on any day of the year surfing in the waves or free-diving with dolphins. Through the eyes of this talented free-spirit, we catch a glimpse at our small island’s immense beauty and can appreciate the transformative effect of nature by appreciating it with him.
