One of the greatest obstacles we will ever face is what we believe to be true about ourselves. In this episode, we discuss how we formed our core attitudes, values and beliefs, and what we can start doing to change them if we notice we’re undermining ourselves. We learn so much without realising as children, and most of it actually has nothing to do with what we’re taught in school. What we really anchor in mentally and emotionally are attitudes, values and beliefs. In this episode: 2:45 – Origins of our attitudes, values & beliefs (and the tools that helped me re-shape mine) 6:06 – Virginia Satir* 9:03 – A boy named Justin 10:45 – Learning to clear the grey clouds 12:17 – A message for all the Black Sheep 13:05 – What’s in a country’s attitude and Belief System? 14:07 – A deeper look at our beliefs 17:01 – An example of a self-defeating Belief System 18:10 – A Genius Little Exercise on Belief Systems 25:06 – A personal tribute *I may or may not be pronouncing her last name correctly… Links & Resources: * Virginia Satir: Resource 1 [https://satir.web.unc.edu/about-virginia-satir/] – Resource 2 [https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/progress-notes/201908/remembering-family-therapist-guru-virginia-satir] * A Genius Little Exercise on Belief Systems [https://karinpinter.com/genius/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/A-Genius-Little-Exercise-on-Belief-Systems.pdf] Written & Produced by Karin Pinter © 2024.
