Ranked in the top 5% of podcasts globally! Do you ever go to bed wondering if your anger or frustration did more harm than good today? Are you exhausted from trying to stay calm when your kids are losing it — and you feel like you’re losing it too? Do you ever fear your kids won’t trust you or forgive you for the moments you lose control? Have you ever wondered how to guide your children with love and boundaries without turning to punishment or guilt? If so, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! This podcast is here to help Christian parents, like you, create peaceful homes built on trust and joy-filled connection with your kiddos. Each episode offers practical tools and biblical encouragement to help you move from reactivity and overwhelm to calm leadership—so you can raise Godly, emotionally healthy kids without relying on punishment or fear.  Hi, I’m Naomi — a wife, mama of five, and Christian parenting coach who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, reactive, and unsure how to respond to my kid’s emotional overwhelm. For years, I wanted to parent differently than the way I was raised, but I didn’t know how. Through my own healing journey, God began teaching me how to move from control and chaos into becoming a calm, joyful parent, knowing how to help my kids handle their big emotions and handling my own as well.  Now I help other Christian parents do the same—parenting from a place of peace, grace, and grounded presence. I am here to support and guide you as you create a joy-filled home rooted in God’s love, where your children feel safe, seen, and deeply known. If you’re ready to parent with peace instead of stress, to respond with grace instead of frustration, and to build a home filled with connection, joy, and the presence of God—this podcast is for you. Let’s go deep to grow strong together! www.listeninghearts.family

56. When Your Child Constantly Wants Attention: The Hidden Need That Changed the Way I Parent

Have you ever found yourself thinking, "Why does my child need my attention all the time?" Whether it's endless cries of "Mom, watch me!" or a constant stream of questions and conversations, it can leave us feeling stretched thin. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple but powerful mindset shift that has transformed the way I respond to these moments. Together, we'll explore why what we often call "attention-seeking" is usually something much deeper—a child's longing to be seen, heard, understood, and connected. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the constant "Mom!" or wondered how to respond with more grace instead of frustration, I pray this conversation encourages you and reminds you that these moments are not interruptions to parenting—they're an invitation into deeper connection. If you are longing for more clarity, connection and peace in your home I would love to walk alongside you. You can book your coaching call here: https://scheduler.zoom.us/naomi-parsons/parenting-support-session [https://scheduler.zoom.us/naomi-parsons/parenting-support-session] Much love, 🤍Naomi

episode 55. Sibling Fighting Driving You Crazy? The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything artwork

55. Sibling Fighting Driving You Crazy? The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

Are you exhausted by the constant sibling fighting in your home? If you've ever wondered how to stop sibling rivalry or questioned whether you're doing something wrong as a parent, this episode is for you. In today's episode, I'm sharing how Jesus has completely changed the way I view sibling conflict. I used to believe that peaceful parenting meant creating a home where my children rarely argued. But over the years, I've discovered that true peace isn't the absence of conflict—it's bringing the peace of Jesus into the middle of it. We'll talk about why sibling conflict is a normal and healthy part of childhood, what children are actually learning through disagreements, practical ways to reduce unnecessary friction, and how we can move from trying to be referees to becoming loving guides who teach kindness, repair, forgiveness, and teamwork. If you're raising siblings, I hope this conversation encourages you to see those everyday disagreements through a new lens. Rather than trying to eliminate conflict altogether, we can use these moments to help our children build the relationship skills they'll carry into friendships, marriage, church, and their own families someday. You are not failing because your children fight. With God's help, you can lovingly guide them through conflict and teach them how to become peacemakers. I would love to invite you to join my Facebook group and be encouraged by other mamas who get it! You can join HERE. [https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1HYe78do5c/] Much Love,  🤍Naomi

episode 54. Forgiving Your Parents Without Pretending It Didn’t Hurt: Healing, Boundaries, and Redemption artwork

54. Forgiving Your Parents Without Pretending It Didn’t Hurt: Healing, Boundaries, and Redemption

Forgiveness can feel especially tender when the hurt is connected to our parents. In this episode, I’m sharing part of my own journey of forgiveness, healing, and learning to release bitterness while still being honest about what hurt. We’ll walk through four gentle steps from The Book of Forgiving by Desmond Tutu and Mpho Tutu: telling the story, naming the hurt, granting forgiveness, and choosing whether to renew or release the relationship. Together, we’ll talk about what forgiveness is — and what it is not. Forgiveness does not mean pretending it didn’t hurt, excusing what was wrong, or forcing closeness where there has not been safety or repair. But with Jesus, forgiveness can become a pathway toward freedom, peace, and healing in our hearts. Whether your next step is renewal, release, or simply sitting with Jesus in the pain, I pray this episode reminds you that you do not have to rush your healing. God is gentle, His timing is kind, and He can be trusted with every part of your story. If your heart feels led, I would love to support you in your journey of healing. 53. Stressed Out, Exhausted, and Snapping at Your Kids? How to Find Grace When Motherhood Feels Hard

Have you ever felt so worn out that the smallest things suddenly feel so overwhelming? In today’s episode, I’m talking about the kind of exhaustion that keeps us moving long after we have run out of energy—the exhaustion that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, short-tempered, and snapping at the people we love most. It’s not about trying harder or doing it perfectly. This is an invitation to bring compassion to the tired, frustrated parts of your heart and get curious about what may be hiding underneath the exhaustion. Could there be a fear that you are not enough? A fear that everything will fall apart if you slow down?  Together, we will gently explore those questions and remember the beautiful truth that Jesus does not ask us to earn His love through productivity, perfection, or holding everything together. He sees your weary heart, and He invites you to come close, lay your burdens down, and receive His grace. I would love for you to join my Facebook group, and receive encouragement and support from other mamas who get it! You can join here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1HyMSYoP8E/ Much Love, 🤍 Naomi

episode 52. When Fear Looks Like Yelling: Understanding What’s Beneath Your Parenting Anger artwork

52. When Fear Looks Like Yelling: Understanding What’s Beneath Your Parenting Anger

Have you ever yelled at your child and then wondered, Why did I react so strongly? In this episode, I’m sharing a personal story about finding my 7-year-old hiding with my phone — and how quickly my mind jumped to fear, panic, and worst-case scenarios. But instead of reacting from that fear, God gently helped me pause, get curious, and create safety for an honest conversation. So often, what looks like anger or yelling in our parenting is really fear trying to protect what we love. Fear about our child’s safety, their future, our ability to guide them well, or what their behavior might mean. Together, we’ll talk about how to recognize the fear beneath our anger, how a “Stormy First Draft” can help us separate the facts from the fear story, and how inviting Jesus into those tender places can help us respond with more wisdom, connection, and peace. If you have been feeling discouraged by your reactions or longing to parent with more gentleness, I pray this episode reminds you that your fear and anger make sense — and that Jesus is not afraid to meet you there. Much Love, 🤍Naomi
