Questions That Change Everything Week 3

This week we look at Mark 5 and the woman who had been suffering from bleeding for 12 years. We saw through her life that even when she was desperate and losing hope, she continued to seek. She found herself in a crowd, motivated to simply touch the hem of Jesus' garment believing that there was power for healing in His "wings." Questions That Change Everything Week 1

This week we started a summer series (Questions that Change Everything) where we are looking at different questions that Jesus asked and how they still matter to us today. This week we looked at Jesus question to His disciples in Matthew 16:13-18. Jesus first asked a "crowd" question, Who do people say I am. Then He asks a personal question, one that we all must answer for ourselves, "Who do YOU say I am." Peter responded by proclaiming Jesus to be the Messiah, the Son of the Living God, and that is the response we should all have. As we studied through this we saw God is constantly revealing Himself to us so that we have no excuse for not believing that He is who He says He is. Titus Week 3

This week we wrap up Titus by looking at chapter 3. In this chapter we see Paul give Titus some "postures" we need to take to be a gospel-moving people. He reminds them to be subject to authority, obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to not be slanderers or gossips, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward EVERYONE. We also see that the reason we take these postures is because we remember (vs.3) our "before." When we keep in mind who we were before the kindness, love and grace of Jesus transformed us then we can see people with compassion instead of contempt or judgement. The call of the Church and our ultimate goal is to be known for our love and the difference that Jesus has made in our lives so that the knowledge of truth can lead to godliness in all the people God puts in our path. Titus Week 2

This week we were in Titus 2. We saw through this chapter that Paul instructed Titus and us to not only establish leaders who were living out the sound doctrine they proclaimed but that he was establishing an intergenerations gospel moving strategy that would make clear that everyone who calls on the name of Christ has a role to play in moving the gospel. We also learned about how God's grace doesn't just save us but it teaches us to say no to ungodliness and yes to godly living. As we allow God's grace to teach us we live with an eternal view in every moment of our lives and we find ourselves eager to do good works.
