We talk about why joy isn’t the same thing as happiness, how peace can show up in the worst moments (even cancer and funerals), and why patience is often just the Spirit giving you that split-second pause before you clap back. Then we bring it down to street level: your witness rises or falls on how you treat people—especially the ones who can’t give you anything back. Bottom line: you can’t manufacture this fruit with willpower. Abide in Christ (John 15), and the Spirit grows what you can’t fake. #FruitOfTheSpirit #Galatians522 #AbideInChrist

The Thing That Made Him Walk Away Sad

In this episode of Black, White, & the Red Letters, Ed  and Camy  unpack Jesus’ startling words in Matthew 19:23–24: “With difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.” They walk through the story of the rich young ruler and confront the real issue: money is not evil, but it is powerful. Wealth can become a cage, a false god, and a substitute for dependence on Christ. The question is not simply, “How much do you have?” The deeper question is, “What has you?” This conversation is about lordship, self-sufficiency, eternal riches, and the danger of choosing the lesser thing when Jesus offers us Himself. 🎙️💰✝️ #BlackWhiteAndTheRedLetters #HardSayingsOfJesus #RichYoungRuler

The Scariest Passage in the Bible?

They are aimed at people who say, “Lord, Lord.” In this episode of Black, White, & the Red Letters, Ed Grifenhagen and Camy Arnett unpack Matthew 7:21–23—a sobering warning about false prophets, empty religious language, real obedience, and what it means to actually know Jesus. They talk about fruit, motivation, lordship, false assurance, and why saying the right words is not the same as living in a real relationship with Christ. This is not a message meant to drive true believers into fear; it is a call to honest examination, deeper surrender, and abiding in the One who redeems, restores, and makes us new. 🎙️🔥✝️ #BlackWhiteAndTheRedLetters #HardSayingsOfJesus #Matthew7

Bless the Stabber!

In this episode of Black, White, & the Red Letters, Ed Grifenhagen and Camy Arnett take on one of Jesus’ hardest commands from Luke 6:27–31: love those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you, and do good to the people who have done you wrong. They talk honestly about revenge, forgiveness, boundaries, abuse, justice, spiritual maturity, and what it means to refuse to let an enemy set the temperature of your soul. This is not weakness. It is radical discipleship—and it is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. 🎙️🔥✝️ #BlackWhiteAndTheRedLetters #HardSayingsOfJesus #LoveYourEnemies

When Really, Really Good Still Isn't Good Enough

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2465898/fan_mail/new] In this episode of Black, White, & the Red Letters, Ed Grifenhagen and Cameron "Cami" Arnett launch into the hard sayings of Jesus with Matthew 5:20: “Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” That one will smack you in the head. Ed and Cami unpack why Jesus’ words would have shocked His original audience, what Pharisee righteousness looked like, and why external religion can never save anybody. They talk about grace, obedience, the law, the flesh, the Holy Spirit, and the righteousness that only comes through Christ. This is a conversation about the difference between looking righteous and being made righteous — and why Jesus didn’t come to lower the bar, but to fulfill what we never could. 🎙️🔥 #BlackWhiteAndTheRedLetters #HardSayingsOfJesus #Matthew520
