The Power of Being Yourself | Gareth "The Avocado" on Trauma, Recovery & Mental Health
In this deeply moving episode of the Brave Everyday Podcast, I sit down with Gareth "The Avocado" to hear an extraordinary story of resilience, survival and hope.
Growing up in Zimbabwe, Gareth experienced childhood abuse, trauma, addiction, bullying and severe mental health challenges. After multiple suicide attempts and being told he may never live independently, he made the courageous decision to rebuild his life from the ground up.
Now living in Spain, Gareth helps others transform their lives through personal development, recovery and his unique "Avocado Philosophy" teaching people to be human, not perfect.
Together, Gareth and I discuss:
Surviving childhood abuse and trauma • Living with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia • Addiction and recovery • Suicide prevention and finding hope again • Learning to love yourself • Why authenticity is more powerful than perfection • The courage to be yourself • Mental health, healing and resilience
If you've ever struggled with your mental health, questioned your worth or wondered if life can get better, this conversation is proof that healing is possible and that your story is far from over.
Helping people feel seen, heard and understood.
