episode The Man Behind the Man: Fix What's Broken on the Inside | Brotherhood Forged Ep. 102 cover

Description

Brotherhood Forged is a Christian men's podcast helping men grow in faith, discipline, and leadership. Most men don't lose their life all at once. They lose it slowly -- from the inside out. A compromise here. A little pride. An outburst. A careless word. A lack of discipline. Before they even realize it, everything on the outside is a direct reflection of what they've ignored on the inside. In Episode 102, Joey Koontz and Paul Bengel walk through the 5 internal battles that quietly erode a man's marriage, leadership, and legacy -- and what the Bible says about fighting back. The 5 battles: 1. Integrity 2. Pride 3. Anger 4. Words 5. Discipline Scripture referenced: Jeremiah 17:9, Proverbs 10:9, James 4:6, Proverbs 29:11, Proverbs 18:21, Matthew 12:36, Proverbs 12:1, Hebrews 12:11, Ephesians 4:26-27 Books mentioned in this episode: - "Winning the War in Your Mind" -- Craig Groeschel - "The Power of Change" -- Craig Groeschel - "Dangerous Prayers" -- Craig Groeschel - "Grace Train" -- Joby Martin - "No More Mr. Nice Guy" -- Dr. Robert Glover - "Scary Close" -- Donald Miller Special thanks to Faith Forged Designs for building the Brotherhood Forged website. ---- Start your FREE 7-Day Devotional: https://bro4ged.com/land Full community and resources: https://bro4ged.com Brotherhood Forged is more than a podcast. episode Mistakes I Made So You Don't Have to. artwork

Mistakes I Made So You Don't Have to.

Brotherhood Forged is a Christian men's podcast helping men grow in faith, discipline, and leadership. It's just Paul today. No Joey, no peanut butter and jelly, just peanut butter. We're trying something new: shorter, weekly solo episodes built off Paul's "If I Could Tell My Younger Self One Thing" series from social media and YouTube Shorts. The goal is simple: pass on the lessons we learned late, or the wrong way, so the next generation (our kids, our grandkids, you) doesn't have to. This episode's theme is intentionality. Five things Paul would tell his younger self: 1. Life doesn't happen by accident. You become who you want to be through intentional daily choices, not by hoping it falls into place. 2. Have the courage to go first. Courage comes before confidence, whether that's starting something new or being the one who apologizes first in your marriage. 3. Stop trying to live someone else's life. Comparison steals your joy. God didn't call you to copy someone else's path, He gave you your own. 4. Don't waste the season you're in. The opportunities in front of you right now have an expiration date. Don't trade them for something that'll always be there. 5. Your marriage needs friendship. Love starts a marriage, but friendship is what carries it through the hard seasons. Bottom line: stop waiting for life to happen. Become the man you're praying to become by choosing him every single day. What's one thing you'd tell your younger self? Drop it in the comments, we'd love to hear it. Mentioned in this episode: * Atomic Habits by James Clear (the "every decision is a vote" concept) * Tim Tebow's college documentary (the midnight weight room story) * Ben Killoy, friend of the show, on courage and society Enjoying the show? It helps more than you know when you like, subscribe, download, and leave a review.
