It's just not what I would normally read as its intended audience is a lot younger (10-13 yo) than I am and I don't usually read books for this age groups. However, this book sounded like so much fun that my curiosity is aroused. I loved the variety of characters from the popular gorgeous older sister, the tough evil bully and his cohorts, the overweight insecure BFF, to the mysterious good looking boy. Even the mother and her partner have such unique characteristics that I'm a little bit jealous since my family is relatively normal ;) Whilst I myself am not into martial arts, hubby is, but I do love watching martial arts movies. There is something mystical about ninjas though and that is what really intriguing. Even though the fighting scenes confused me a little with all the roundhouse kickings and axe kicks and flying kicks and so on, I still found the whole book to be very entertaining. I would fully recommend this book to the truly adventurous and also to the adventurous at heart (like me). I'm planning to gift this as a Christmas present for a niece of mine -can't wait to hear her thoughts! Thank you Harper Collins Australia and NetGalley for the privilege to view & read ARCgalley. Great So Far I have only read the first chapter but so far this book is fantastic! I have a feeling the rest of it is great to.

episode Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure Audiobook by Michelle Dry, Ruby Allure artwork

Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure Audiobook by Michelle Dry, Ruby Allure

Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/audiobook/1048/ [https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/audiobook/1048/] to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure Author: Michelle Dry, Ruby Allure Narrator: David Newbrook Format: Unabridged Length: 8 hrs and 7 mins Language: English Release date: 12-18-17 Publisher: Michelle Dry Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10 Publisher's Summary: Sometimes the desire to explore can just get the better of you. That is what happened to Wyld when his family were sent to a remote valley to study the newly bred prehistoric mammals. Those prehistoric creatures weren't the dinosaur kind either but the mammoth and sabre tooth tiger types. Of course Wyld didn't believe there were creatures like that out there, so while his parents were in another stuffy meeting he thought that he would just take a "little look" outside. That little look resulted in him to discover a fluff-ball of a creature and the pair of them ended up on a Wyld adventure that they could never have imagined. Members Reviews: A Boy Named Wyld & a Mammoth-sized Adventure For every child with an imagination, there's an adventure waiting to come to life. In Wyld: One Mammoth Adventure, Michelle Dry brings the adventure to life for a boy named Wyld and his Science-loving family. Okay, so the kids don't seem too thrilled to be caught up in their parents' new job posting. When they find themselves living in a cave in the wilderness... literally, with no answers forthcoming from their parents, Wyld decides to sneak out into the night, alone. What he finds there is mammoth... a small mammoth. But soon things get hairy. And, that is when the adventure grows beyond Wyld's imagination. A story for wildlife loving preteens, this book has twists and turns that defy everything you thought was happening. So, be prepared for a changing plot. I requested and received a free review copy of the Audible version, narrated by the youngish sounding David Newbrook. His breathy whispered voice lends the tone of the main character, as if you are hearing the story straight from Wyld himself. I recommend this book for older pre-teens.

episode The Girl Who Saved Christmas Audiobook by Matt Haig artwork

The Girl Who Saved Christmas Audiobook by Matt Haig

Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/audiobook/1048/ [https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/audiobook/1048/] to download full audiobooks of your choice for free. Title: The Girl Who Saved Christmas Author: Matt Haig Narrator: Carey Mulligan Format: Unabridged Length: 5 hrs and 21 mins Language: English Release date: 10-31-17 Publisher: Listening Library Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 8 votes Genres: Kids, Ages 8-10 Publisher's Summary: From the best-selling author of A Boy Called Christmas comes a hilarious and heartwarming holiday tale for fans of Roald Dahl and Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol that imagines the story of the first child to ever receive a Christmas present. Amelia Wishart was the first child ever to receive a Christmas present. It was her Christmas spirit that gave Santa the extra boost of magic he needed to make his first trip around the world. But now Amelia is in trouble. When her mother falls ill, she is sent to the workhouse to toil under cruel Mr. Creeper. For a whole year, Amelia scrubs the floors and eats watery gruel without a whiff of kindness to keep her going. It's not long before her hope begins to drain away. Meanwhile, up at the North Pole, magic levels dip dangerously low as Christmas approaches, and Santa knows that something is gravely wrong. With the help of his trusty reindeer, a curious cat, and Charles Dickens, he sets out to find Amelia, the only girl who might be able to save Christmas. But first, Amelia must learn to believe again.... Critic Reviews: "Matt Haig has an empathy for the human condition, the light and the dark of it, and he uses the full palette to build his excellent stories." (Neil Gaiman, Newbery-winning author of The Graveyard Book) "With a little bit of naughty and a lot of nice, this Christmastime yarn is a veritable sugarplum." (Kirkus Reviews) Members Reviews: ... Haig is a very charming story that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike The Girl Who Saved Christmas by Matt HaigÂis a very charming story that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. ItÂis the story of Amelia Wishart, who is the first child ever to receive a gift from Father Christmas. She never loses hope throughout the misery she encounters in her very young life and however much she would like to stop believing in magic and goodness, she never fully does. Her hope made that first visit possible, and, just a couple of years later, her hope might just save Christmas itself. The story takes place in two locations that couldn't be more different: Elfhelm, where it is clean and only ever gets as cold as you want it to be, and in 1841 London, where it is dirty, cold and unfriendly place to orphans. The characters in the story are quite fun. Amelia and Father Christmas both have strong personalities with a firm determination to get things done. Mr. Creeper is just as his name predicts, he is creepy and not a nice man at all. The guest appearances of a ruling head of state and a famous author are perfect. One passage was hilarious and it took me several minutes to sop laughing before I could continue reading. I was amused. I recommend this book for read-a-loud's to children and for middle grade readers. I received this book from NetGalley via Random House Children'sÂKnopf Books for Young Readers in exchange for an honest review. A Magical Christmas Story for Children and Adults Slightly less than one year ago, I read Matt Haigâs âA Boy Called Christmasâ and fell in love with the story he had created.
