The endothelial layer of your arteries has insulin receptors. When these receptors are damaged, your blood pressure can increase. Too much insulin allows too much calcium to enter the cells, so calcium channel blockers are often used to lower high blood pressure. However, the connection between insulin resistance and high blood pressure is usually ignored. A protective shield called the glycocalyx typically covers the endothelial tissue on the inside of your arteries. When this shield becomes damaged, it can cause a cascade of problems, including cellular damage, inflammation, calcium buildup, and excess clotting. The glycocalyx is vulnerable to damage from glucose and fructose. A low-carb diet and intermittent fasting can help you get healthy and lower your blood pressure quickly. Insulin resistance creates serious nutritional deficiencies that must also be addressed to lower blood pressure. To help reverse high blood pressure, increase the following nutrients: •Vitamin D •Magnesium glycinate •Potassium •Sulfur To fix insulin resistance and lower blood pressure, it’s important to avoid carbohydrates, sugar, starch, and seed oils. Today, I’m going to share the best stretch for your psoas muscle. The psoas muscle connects the upper part of your body with the lower part. A tight psoas muscle can lead to low back pain, poor posture, and problems with the hips. Problems with the psoas muscle can make it difficult to: • Get out of bed  • Stand from a seated position • Walk and run  • Have good posture  • Keep a low back curve  • Climb stairs When the psoas is too tight, it affects a lot of other muscles, and those muscles start to compensate. Typically, a person will have a tighter psoas muscle on one side more than the other side. It’s very important to fix that and keep the psoas symmetrical. This simple psoas stretch that I’m going to show you will also help you strengthen and stabilize this muscle. I think it’s going to give you a lot of relief. Over the course of two to three weeks of doing this stretch, you’ll find that when you walk, your pelvis, hips, and gait are more free and open. You’ll also notice that your low back pain is much better, your hips are less tight, and your low back curve is in a good position. In this video, we’re going to talk about the best and worst oil for deep frying. Seed oils are polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegetable oil is actually seed oil—it doesn’t come from vegetables. Seed oils go through industrial processing involving heating and the addition of solvents like hexane, a chemical found in gasoline. This process allows seed oils to be shelf-stable for long periods of time. Around 25% to 30% of our calories come from seed oils. When you cook processed foods like donuts in seed oils, you’re combining sugar with fat and heat. This process, called glycation, creates sticky proteins in the body. Fast food oil is reheated and reused repeatedly. The more it’s heated, the more toxic it becomes. Seed oils were not originally created for human consumption. They’re incredibly damaging to the mitochondria and lead to insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, obesity, heart disease, and an increased risk for cancer. Soybean oil causes the most damage to the body, followed by corn oil, sunflower oil, and canola oil. Healthier cooking oils for frying include avocado oil, coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, beef tallow, butter, and ghee. Keep in mind it's best to cook over low or medium heat. Pan-frying, air-frying, and stir-frying are healthier options than deep-frying over high heat.
