episode I Spent Years Trying To Earn What God Already Gave Me cover

Description

For years Buddy prayed for purpose. Begged God to reveal his calling. Worked harder. Tried to be more disciplined. More worthy.. And the whole time God was saying β€” stop praying for what I already put inside you. 2 Timothy 1:9 breaks open the most exhausting lie most Christians believe. That your calling is something you earn. That your identity is something you perform for. T hat if you just do enough β€” God will finally release what you've been chasing. But grace was given before the beginning of time. Before your mistakes. Before your best days. Before you existed. You can't perform your way into something God decided before creation. Stop striving. Start abiding. The tree doesn't strain to grow fruit. It yields β€” and produces exactly what it was created for. "He has saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of anything we have done, but because of his own purpose and grace." β€” 2 Timothy 1:9 πŸ”₯ Subscribe and hit the bell β€” new devotional every week. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Tues (Women's) | Wed (Men's) | Sat (Coed) β€” link in bio

episode "You Were Set Free But You're Still Thinking Like A Slave artwork

"You Were Set Free But You're Still Thinking Like A Slave

Israel crossed the Red Sea. They were free.. Four hundred years of slavery β€” over. The chains were gone. The water came down. Pharaoh's army was destroyed. By every measure they had been completely delivered. And three days later they were complaining about going back to Egypt. That's not just an ancient story. That's every man who has been delivered from addiction, lust, toxic relationships, or a broken identity β€” but whose mind still runs back to it. You crossed the sea but you're still thinking like you're in chains. The old life keeps chasing you because your mind keeps letting it back in. Exodus 14 carries a revelation most people completely miss when they read the Red Sea story. It wasn't just that God parted the water. It was what Jesus did before the sea opened β€” He moved from in front of the Israelites to behind them. He placed himself between Israel and Egypt. Between His people and what was coming for them. Same nature. Same God. Different moment. At the Red Sea β€” Jesus stood between Israel and Egypt. At the Cross β€” Jesus stood between humanity and wrath. The people could not save themselves. In both moments God became the barrier between good and evil, conquering death and destruction, saving the captives. But here's the part that hits hardest β€” Israel was free. Completely free. And they still thought like slaves. That's why we must die to the old life. Not just cross the sea but bury the mindset that keeps looking back at Egypt. The old life will come chasing after you every time. Don't look back. This is Episode 6 of the series β€” You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still." β€” Exodus 14:14 πŸ”₯ New episode every day this week β€” subscribe and hit the bell. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Tues (Women's) | Wed (Men's) | Sat (Coed) β€” DM "Bible study" to join

episode You've Been Running From This For Years. It's Still There. artwork

You've Been Running From This For Years. It's Still There.

Moses spent 40 years running.. He killed a man. Fled everything he knew. Built a whole new life in the wilderness. A wife. A family. A flock. By the time God showed up at that burning bush, Moses was 80 years old. And God still showed up. That's what Exodus 3 is showing you. Not just the story of Moses β€” the story of everyone who has ever run from what God placed inside them. The people who grew up in church and got hurt by it. The ones who walked away from ministry and told themselves they were done. The ones who have been building a quiet life in the wilderness hoping God would just find someone else. He didn't find someone else. He never does. The burning bush wasn't about Moses being ready. Moses wasn't ready. He argued with God five times. He listed every reason he was the wrong choice. And God's answer to every excuse was the same β€” I AM WHO I AM. The calling doesn't cancel. It just waits. You can delay it. You can run from it. You can spend decades in the wilderness pretending it isn't there. But what God placed inside you before you were born doesn't disappear because you got hurt, because you failed, or because you built a life around avoiding it. It's still there. It was always going to be there. This is part of the series β€” You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. "God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.'" β€” Exodus 3:14 πŸ”₯ New episode every day this week β€” subscribe and hit the bell. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Sat (Coed) 7PM Eastern β€” DM "Bible study" to join

episode God Didn't Show Up To Help You Win. He Showed Up To Change You. artwork

God Didn't Show Up To Help You Win. He Showed Up To Change You.

You've been asking God to remove the struggle.. Take away the temptation. Stop the pattern. Make the fight easier. And it hasn't gone away. And somewhere in the back of your mind you've started wondering β€” does God even hear me? He heard you every single time. He just had a different answer than the one you were asking for. Genesis 32 is one of the most misread stories in the entire Bible. Jacob wrestling through the night with a mysterious man. Most people read it as a man fighting God and winning. But when you understand what's actually happening β€” who this figure is, why He let Jacob hold on, and what He did with one touch β€” everything changes.God didn't show up to help Jacob win. He showed up to change who Jacob was.He didn't remove the fight. He got in the ring. And in the middle of the most exhausting night of Jacob's life β€” God changed his name, restored his identity, and transformed everything. The hip wasn't punishment. It was proof. God had control the entire time. [http://time.So] So [http://time.So] the question isn't whether God is in your struggle. The question is β€” are you still trying to win it on your own terms? Or are you ready to stop striving long enough to let Him change who you are? This is Episode 3 of the series β€” You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. Watch from Episode 1. "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome." β€” Genesis 32:28 πŸ”₯ New episode every day this week β€” subscribe and hit the bell. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Sat (Coed) 7PM Eastern β€” DM "Bible study" to join πŸ“Œ Join the Mentorship: πŸ‘‰ https://www.buddybrand.fitness/mentor [https://www.buddybrand.fitness/mentor]... πŸ“² DM me on Instagram β€” I answer every message: πŸ‘‰ / buddybrandfitness

episode Stop Giving God What His Son Already Gave You artwork

Stop Giving God What His Son Already Gave You

You've been trying to give God enough..More discipline. More sacrifice. More effort. Negotiating with him β€” if I give this up, if I commit to this, if I stop doing that β€” maybe then he'll be satisfied. Maybe then he'll finally show up. But Genesis 22 reveals something that most Christians completely miss when they read the story of Abraham and Isaac.God never wanted the sacrifice. He already provided one. When Abraham raised that knife β€” fully surrendered, fully obedient β€” the Angel of the Lord stopped him. And in that moment God revealed what He had been pointing to the entire time. A ram caught in the thicket. A substitute already provided. A foreshadow of what was coming through Jesus thousands of years later. This was the cross before the cross.Abraham said it himself in verse 8 β€” "God will provide the lamb." And God did. Not through Abraham's sacrifice. Through His own. [http://own.So] So [http://own.So] stop trying to give God something He already took from His Son. Stop negotiating with a God who already settled everything. Stop sacrificing the parts of your life that Jesus already paid for on the cross. [http://cross.You] You [http://cross.You] don't give your life to Jesus. You receive the life He already gave for you. This is Day 2 of the series β€” You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. Watch Day 1 first." Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide." β€” Genesis 22:14 πŸ”₯ New episode every day this week β€” subscribe and hit the bell. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Tues (Women's) | Wed (Men's) | Sat (Coed) β€” link in bio

episode Most Christians Read The Old Testament Without Seeing Jesus In It artwork

Most Christians Read The Old Testament Without Seeing Jesus In It

But he was already there. Already moving. Already pursuing broken people long before Bethlehem. Long before the manger. Long before anyone knew his name. Genesis 16 is one of the most overlooked passages in all of scripture. And when you see who Jesus was pursuing in the Old Testament β€” and why β€” everything you thought you knew about when God started coming after you changes completely. Hagar wasn't a prophet. She wasn't a patriarch. She wasn't chosen or celebrated or important in anyone's eyes. She was a slave girl β€” used, discarded, and running alone in the wilderness with nothing. And Jesus found her there. Not because she earned it. Not because she came looking for him. He went to where she was. He called her by name. He saw her when nobody else would. That's not a New Testament story. That's Genesis. And if that's who he was pursuing before the cross β€” what does that tell you about where he is right now in your wilderness? This is Episode 1 of a brand new series β€” You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. This changes everything. "She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: 'You are the God who sees me.'" β€” Genesis 16:13 πŸ”₯ New episode every day this week β€” subscribe and hit the bell. πŸ“– Bible Study β€” Tues (Women's) | Wed (Men's) | Sat (Coed) β€” link in bio
