Description

"Mellow Yellow" is one of Donovan's most famous and misinterpreted songs. I promised another popular theory: is that the title refers to Donovan’s bout with hepatitis in early 1966, which left him jaundiced. Ultimately, Donovan describes the song as being about his own "mellow" and laid-back demeanor, which he achieved through meditation rather than drugs. "Could It Be Magic" is a landmark track in Donna Summer's career, serving as the lead single from her third studio album, A Love Trilogy (1976). The song has deep classical roots. It was composed by Barry Manilow and Adrienne Anderson, heavily basing the chord progressions and melody on Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in C Minor, Opus 28, Number 20. Manilow released his own slower, pop-ballad version in 1975, taking it to No. 6 on the US charts.
