Ep. 79: The Big 2026 World Cup Preview

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is finally here, but for the first time in my life I find myself approaching a World Cup with mixed feelings. In this preview, I discuss why this tournament feels different, from ticket prices and logistics to the expanded format and the changing relationship between fans and the game. I then explore the historical patterns behind World Cup winners, comparing European and South American champions and asking which nations best fit those archetypes in 2026.From the leading favourites to the dark horses, I break down the teams most likely to challenge for football's biggest prize before running through a projected tournament bracket and sharing my expectations for how the competition could unfold.I also explain how My Soccer Universe will cover the World Cup throughout the tournament.Who do you think will lift the trophy in 2026?#WorldCup2026 #FIFAWorldCup #FootballTalk----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Use this RSS Link to never miss an episode in your favorite podcast app: https://anchor.fm/s/f9d49078/podcast/rss You can also find me on YouTube: @MySoccerUniverseFootballTalk Also, check out my main Youtube channel @MySoccerUniverse If you want to hear my takes on the Austrian Bundesliga in general, and my team LASK in particular and understand German, you can subscribe to my other podcast, too: @MeinLASKUniversum or https://anchor.fm/s/107a5b448/podcast/rss ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------#WorldCup2026#FIFAWorldCup#FootballTalk#WorldCupPreview#FootballAnalysis#Argentina#France#Brazil#Spain#England#Germany#Austria#Soccer#Football#MySoccerUniverse00:00 Intro00:40 Why This World Cup Feels Different06:55 World Cup Winning Archetypes14:24 The Top Favourites16:50 The Challengers20:02 Potential Dark Horses23:01 Nations Building Towards Something Bigger27:46 Austria's Chances29:35 Projected Tournament Preview33:46 Knockout Bracket Projection38:20 How I Will Cover The World Cup40:10 Final Thoughts

Ep. 78: Back-to-Back! PSG Defend the Champions League

The 2025/26 European club season comes to an end with a tense and dramatic UEFA Champions League Final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.Arsenal took an early lead through Kai Havertz and defended brilliantly for long stretches of the match, frustrating PSG and limiting one of Europe’s most dangerous attacks to very few clear opportunities. However, PSG found a way back into the contest through a second-half penalty converted by Ousmane Dembélé, setting up a gripping finish that eventually required extra time and penalties to decide the destination of the trophy. In the end, PSG held their nerve from the spot and successfully defended the Champions League title they first won in 2025, achieving one of the rarest feats in modern European football.I also discuss Luis Enrique’s achievement, the growing influence of Spanish coaching across Europe, Arsenal’s impressive performance, and what this final says about the current state of elite football. What did you think of the final? Did the best team win? And where does this PSG side rank among recent European champions?Let me know in the comments.Use this RSS Link to never miss an episode in your favorite podcast app: https://anchor.fm/s/f9d49078/podcast/rss You can also find me on YouTube: @MySoccerUniverseFootballTalk Also, check out my main Youtube channel @MySoccerUniverse If you want to hear my takes on the Austrian Bundesliga in general, and my team LASK in particular and understand German, you can subscribe to my other podcast, too: @MeinLASKUniversum or https://anchor.fm/s/107a5b448/podcast/rss #ChampionsLeague#UCL#ChampionsLeagueFinal#PSG#Arsenal#PSGvsArsenal#LuisEnrique#Football#Soccer#FootballTalk#EuropeanFootball#ChampionsLeague2026#ParisSaintGermain#OusmaneDembele#KaiHavertz00:00 PSG defend their crown02:10 Thoughts on the pre-show vibes03:29 Arsenal score early and shut down PSG06:40 PSG get back into the game09:09 An OT period with questionable decisions12:12 PSG win on penalties14:26 Putting the game into perspective16:29 The era of Spanish coaching18:16 Final thoughts

Ep: 76: Why LASK’s Title Changed My Relationship With Football

For years, football for me was mostly about distance — watching the biggest clubs, the biggest leagues, the biggest stars from afar. And then LASK won the double. In this episode, I talk about what this title means to me personally, how following my local club changed my perspective on football, why Austrian football suddenly feels more real than ever before, and how success, family, identity and community reshaped the way I experience the game.I also reflect on Milan, modern football overload, smaller leagues, and where this channel might be heading in the future.A very personal Football Talk episode.Use this RSS Link to never miss an episode in your favorite podcast app: https://anchor.fm/s/f9d49078/podcast/rss You can also find me on YouTube: @MySoccerUniverseFootballTalk Also, check out my main Youtube channel @MySoccerUniverse If you want to hear my takes on the Austrian Bundesliga in general, and my team LASK in particular and understand German, you can subscribe to my other podcast, too: @MeinLASKUniversum or https://anchor.fm/s/107a5b448/podcast/rss #LASK#FootballTalk#AustrianFootball#FootballCulture#Milan#Bundesliga#FootballPodcast#Soccer#EuropeanFootball

Ep. 75: How Milan Lost Me

AC Milan are not just struggling on the pitch. For the first time in a long time, they are becoming emotionally difficult to connect with.In this audio-only episode, I reflect on:* Milan’s collapse in the Champions League race* the endless cycle of “restarts”* the post-Maldini identity crisis* the struggles under Allegri* poor squad building* ownership frustrations* and why this team currently leaves me cold as a supporterAt the same time, football elsewhere still feels alive — especially as a LASK fan living through a dream season. This is not a rage episode. It’s a reflection on how one of Europe’s great clubs slowly lost its direction.Let me know — where is your club right now?Use this RSS Link to never miss an episode in your favorite podcast app: https://anchor.fm/s/f9d49078/podcast/rss You can also find me on YouTube: @MySoccerUniverseFootballTalk Also, check out my main Youtube channel @MySoccerUniverse If you want to hear my takes on the Austrian Bundesliga in general, and my team LASK in particular and understand German, you can subscribe to my other podcast, too: @MeinLASKUniversum or https://anchor.fm/s/107a5b448/podcast/rss #ACMilan#Milan#SerieA#FootballTalk#SoccerAnalysis#ACMilanNews#Maldini#Allegri#ChristianPulisic#RafaelLeao#ItalianFootball#FootballPodcast
