When we newly got married, I was caught in the web of paying bills, and these bills kept mounting up. With the arrival of our son and some family members looking up to you, these bills made me forget the real purpose of marriage. I had to realign myself to the real deal. You know, when the Bible says "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added," this verse of the Bible became real to me. I also picked one of my old books by Stephen R. Covey: First Things First. The bills didn't go away, lol, but I became a better husband and father when I started to focus on what really matters. I am not alone in this journey.
