Welcome to the Ossome podcast

Hello and welcome to the Ossome podcast. My name's Shane Davis. I'm a martial arts photographer from Preston Lancashire. As an eighties kid and growing up, watching the karate kid. And then later, all Bruce Lee's movies, martial arts has played a consistent part in my life, and I've always had a fascination with it. Over the years I've tried my hand at karate Kung Fu boxing, and most recently Brazilian jujitsu. Now, whilst I love a good roll or sparring session, it's through my photography, that I try to find and capture the hearts of martial arts. By photographing those who excel in the disciplines of the chosen Martial art at about 1/1000th of a second.I hope to create a snapshot of something that the mind recognizes, but potentially that the eye cant see see. This podcast is a companion to that mission. Where I attempt through photographing martial artists and fighters in capturing the essence in the visual form. This podcast aims to do through conversation. Each episode, I'll spend time speaking with those dedicated to the chosen art and attempt to get a deeper understanding of what drives them and hopefully deeper truths of the chosen art form. I hope that you enjoy these conversations as much as I will enjoy making them. And I look forward to sharing them with you.
