episode Michael Jackson reviews? not high. same as Vanilla Sky cover

Description

šŸæšŸ» Popcorn and Beers is back with another stacked week of reviews, chaos, and cinematic nonsense. This week’s Butter on Top is the new Michael Jackson movie, and… the reviews are very mixed. We also spend perhaps a little too long discussing some of the sensitive subject matter surrounding it, so consider this your trigger warning for stupid opinions. Our Drunk Classic this week is one of Josh’s all-time favorites: Vanilla Sky. It’s been a while since Josh hit the crew with a strange, cerebral mind-bender, and this one definitely sparks some conversation. Also reviewed this week: šŸš€ Project Hail Mary – Josh catches up with the sci-fi hit and absolutely loved it šŸ˜‚ Trevor Noah: Joy in the Trenches – Josh reviews the new Netflix special šŸ˜‚ Kevin Hart: Funny AF – Fry weighs in on Kevin Hart’s latest šŸŽØ Color Theory with Julio Torres – Josh reviews the HBO comedy special šŸ’Ŗ Hulk Hogan Documentary – Reviewed and discussed 🦸 Latest Episode of Invincible – All three hosts watched it, and yes… it rules šŸ‘Øā€šŸ‘§ Roommates – Sadie Sandler’s latest film with Adam Sandler gets reviewed To Set It Off for next week, our upcoming Drunk Classic is: šŸ”„ Set It Off And next week’s Butter on Top will be: šŸ‘  The Devil Wears Prada 2 Which also revealed the shocking truth that Fry has never seen the original Devil Wears Prada, so he’s got homework before next episode. Cheers for listening, and don’t forget to like, subscribe, and crack a cold one with us next week.

TOO MUCH TOM HANKS! toy story 5 AND the Terminal

Popcorn and Beers – Episode Notes Opening Welcome back to Popcorn and Beers, the show where we watch movies so you don’t have to… but honestly, you probably should. Butter on Top Toy Story 5 The gang dives into the latest installment of Pixar’s flagship franchise. Was there still enough gas in the tank for another adventure with Woody, Buzz, and the crew, or is this one arriving a little too late? Drunk Classic The Terminal (2004) This week’s Drunk Classic takes us back to Steven Spielberg’s charming airport dramedy starring Tom Hanks. The hosts discuss whether the movie still works over twenty years later and inevitably fall into a conversation about favorite Tom Hanks performances. Tom Hanks Detour A side discussion featuring: Forrest Gump Cast Away Apollo 13 Saving Private Ryan Big A League of Their Own Road to Perdition Which Tom Hanks movie belongs on the Mount Rushmore of Hanks performances? āø» Jordan’s Watch List Toy Story 3 Jordan finally caught up with the emotional gut-punch that made grown adults cry over animated toys. Toy Story 4 Did the fourth installment justify its existence? Jordan weighs in after finally seeing both sequels back-to-back. Masters of the Universe Jordan revisits Eternia and finds a movie that’s more enjoyable than its reputation suggests. Not a masterpiece, but a surprisingly fun relic of the 1980s. āø» Frye’s Watch List The Hobbit Trilogy Marathon Frye watched: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies All on a plane. Like a true sicko. The hosts discuss whether this is the optimal viewing experience for Peter Jackson’s bloated fantasy epic or a violation of international aviation law. Return to Silent Hill A disappointing trip back to one of gaming’s most beloved horror franchises. Frye explains why the film completely misses what makes Silent Hill work. Over Your Dead Body A stylish and strange Japanese horror film that blends stage performance, obsession, and supernatural terror. Spider NOIR Thrash Maternal Instinct The wild card of the week. The hosts attempt to explain what they watched and ultimately conclude that listeners may simply need to look this one up themselves. āø» Popcorn and Beers Awards Biggest Surprise Plane Ride Endurance Award Frye, for surviving all three Hobbit films at cruising altitude. āø» Next Week Drunk Classic Can’t Hardly Wait (1998) The late-90s teen comedy classic takes center stage next week. The hosts revisit graduation parties, teen movie clichĆ©s, and one of the most recognizable ensemble casts of its era. Watch Along Recommendation Watch Can’t Hardly Wait before next week’s episode and see if it still holds up.

(FIXED IT) Disclosure Day, Overboard, and questionable decisions

This week, the crew dives into our latest Butter on Top, Disclosure Day by Spielberg. Did it blow us away? Not exactly. Did it completely crash and burn? Also not exactly. One of us may have had a rougher time with it than the movie itself. For our Drunk Classic, we revisit Overboard. It’s charming. It’s funny. It’s heartfelt. It’s also… incredibly problematic. Should people still watch it? We honestly can’t decide, but we definitely had a lot to say about it.We also discuss:šŸŽ¤ Tom Segura’s Bad Thoughts Season 2šŸŽø Ed Sheeran’s One ShotšŸ’€ Over Your Dead BodyšŸŒ A Big Beautiful JourneyAs always, expect movie talk, questionable opinions, tangents, laughs, and three friends trying to figure out whether nostalgia is making old movies better than they actually are.Grab some popcorn, crack open a beer (or beverage of choice), and join us for another week of movies, mayhem, and mildly informed criticism.#Movies #MoviePodcast #PopcornAndBeers #FilmReview #Spielberg #Overboard #TomSegura

Scary Movie Wont die! But everyone in Perfect Storm dies!

Popcorn & Beers – Episode Description This week on Popcorn & Beers, the guys take a trip back to the early 2000s with Scary Movie, the horror-comedy spoof starring Regina Hall and Anna Faris. Does it still hold up after all these years, or is it a relic of a very different comedy era? We break down the laughs, the cringe, and whether Anna Faris deserves the comeback she’s been chasing. For our Drunk Classic, Jordan brings The Perfect Storm to the table. The crew revisits the storm-chasing disaster drama to see if it still makes waves or if it gets lost at sea. Elsewhere, the hosts catch up on everything they’ve been watching: Swap and Office Romance on Netflix Jordan continues his TV binge with the latest season of The Boys, plus Euphoria and Obsession Frye presses onward through the MCU with Ant-Man and the Wasp and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 As always, we wrap things up by picking next week’s assignments. The new Butter on Top will be Disclosure Day from Steven Spielberg, while the next Drunk Classic is the Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell favorite, Overboard. Grab some popcorn, crack open a beer, and join us for another week of movies, television, and questionable opinions. šŸæšŸ»
