Description

Day 169: "Seek the Lord" 📍 2 Chronicles 15 What does revival look like? According to 2 Chronicles 15, revival doesn't begin with a program, a strategy, or an emotional experience—it begins when God's people seek Him with their whole hearts. King Asa received a powerful message from God: > "If you seek Him, He will be found by you..." (2 Chronicles 15:2) In today's episode, we explored three life-changing truths: ✅ God desires a relationship, not mere religion. God is not interested in outward rituals without inward devotion. He wants our hearts. ✅ Revival begins with repentance. When Asa heard God's Word, he took courage, removed idols, and led the nation back to the Lord. ✅ The God who is sought is the God who is found. Throughout Scripture, we see God's grace toward those who turn back to Him. No matter how far you've drifted, God welcomes those who seek Him. The challenge for all of us is simple: What are you seeking most? Success? Security? Comfort? Approval? None of those things can satisfy the deepest longing of your soul. Only Christ can. 🙏 Today, make it your priority to seek the Lord. Not just His blessings, but His presence. "You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." — Jeremiah 29:13 🎙️ Listen, subscribe, and share The Story of Scripture with Pastor John. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #2Chronicles15 #SeekTheLord #Revival #Faith #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #DailyDevotion #JesusChrist #GodsWord Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 178--"The Lord Alone is God" (2 Kings 1)

Day 178 — "The Lord Alone Is God" 📖 2 Kings 1 Where do you turn when life falls apart? King Ahaziah had access to the one true God, yet he looked elsewhere for answers. His story reminds us that every time we seek ultimate truth, hope, or security apart from God, we're placing our trust in something that cannot save. In today's episode, we'll discover: 🔹 Why God's authority has no rival 🔹 The danger of trusting false saviors instead of the Lord 🔹 The difference between pride that resists God and humility that receives His grace 🔹 How this chapter points us to Jesus, who declared, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me."(Matthew 28:18) The question isn't whether something has your trust—the question is who has your trust. 🎧 Join me as we continue our journey through The Story of Scripture, discovering how every chapter of God's Word points us to Christ. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #2Kings #BibleStudy #DailyDevotional #JesusIsLord #TrustGod #Faith #ChristianPodcast #WalkWithJesus #Scripture #BibleTeaching Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 177 "Naboth's Vineyard" (1 Kings 21)

Day 177: Naboth's Vineyard (1 Kings 21) Power can be abused, but God's justice can never be ignored. In today's episode, we looked at the tragic story of Naboth's vineyard and were reminded that God sees every act of injustice. King Ahab's greed and Jezebel's wicked manipulation led to the death of an innocent man, but the Lord confronted their sin and declared His judgment. Three Takeaways: ✅ Coveting what God has not given us can lead to devastating sin. ✅ God calls leaders to serve others—not exploit them. ✅ Even when justice seems delayed, God sees, remembers, and will make all things right. Most importantly, this story points us to Jesus—the innocent One who was falsely accused and condemned. Unlike Naboth, Jesus willingly gave His life so that sinners could receive forgiveness and eternal life. The greatest injustice in history became God's greatest display of mercy. Key Verse: "Have you murdered and also taken possession?" — 1 Kings 21:19 No matter what you've faced, remember this truth: God sees. God knows. God is just. And in Christ, He offers both justice and mercy. 🎙️ Listen now to Day 177 of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #BiblePodcast #1Kings21 #NabothsVineyard #GodsJustice #Faith #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #TrustGod #JusticeAndMercy #WalkWithChrist Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Double Portion--Episode 6--"Crossing Over"

DOUBLE PORTION – Episode 6 Crossing Over 📖 2 Kings 2:1–14 In this episode of Double Portion, we journey with Elijah and Elisha through one of the most significant transitions in Scripture. As Elijah is taken to heaven in a whirlwind and his mantle falls to Elisha, we are reminded that while God's servants may change, God's work never stops. Elisha refused to leave Elijah's side, demonstrating the value of faithful discipleship and the cost of following closely. His persistence wasn't about position—it was about preparation. God was preparing the next generation to carry forward the mission. This powerful passage teaches us that every believer is leaving a legacy. The question is not whether we will influence others, but what kind of influence we will leave behind. 🔹 Stay faithful through seasons of transition. 🔹 Follow God closely, even when the journey is difficult. 🔹 Invest in others and leave a spiritual legacy that outlives you. God's work is always one generation away from extinction unless faithful believers intentionally pass the truth on to those who follow. Who are you mentoring? Who are you discipling? What legacy are you leaving? 🎧 Listen now and be encouraged to live in a way that impacts the next generation for Christ. #DoublePortion #PastorJohn #2Kings2 #ElijahAndElisha #SpiritualLegacy #Discipleship #Mentoring Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 176 "Victory and Mercy" (1 Kings 20)

Day 176: Victory and Mercy 📖 1 Kings 20 God gave Israel victory even though they had been unfaithful. Why? Because His purpose was bigger than their performance. God wanted them to know that He alone is the Lord. In this chapter, Israel faced overwhelming odds, yet God delivered them—not once, but twice. The lesson is clear: God is not limited by circumstances. He is the God of the hills and the valleys, the mountaintops and the struggles. But the chapter also reminds us that God's mercy should lead us to obedience. King Ahab enjoyed God's blessing but failed to follow God's command. He received mercy yet refused to fully surrender. The same challenge confronts us today. God's grace is never a license for compromise. His kindness is meant to draw us closer to Him, deepen our faith, and strengthen our obedience. ✅ God is faithful even when we are not. ✅ God is Lord over every valley you face. ✅ God's mercy should lead us to greater obedience. ✅ Jesus is our ultimate victory over sin and death. No matter what battle you're facing today, remember: the God who gives victory is also the God who shows mercy. #TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #1Kings20 #VictoryAndMercy #BibleReadingPlan #FaithInTheValley #GodsGrace #ChristianLiving #DailyDevotional #TrustGod #JesusIsKing #WalkByFaith #MercyAndGrace Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]

Story of Scripture--Day 175 "Hope in God" (Psalm 42)

Day 175 — Hope in God Psalm 42 Have you ever felt spiritually exhausted? Discouraged? Like your soul was running on empty? Psalm 42 reminds us that even God's people experience seasons of weariness and struggle. The psalmist cries out, "Why are you cast down, O my soul?" Yet in the middle of his pain, he speaks truth to his heart: "Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him." (Psalm 42:5) Our hope is not found in our circumstances changing. Our hope is found in the unchanging character of God. When the waves of life crash over us, God's steadfast love remains constant. When our hearts are weary, His presence sustains us. When we don't have answers, we can still trust the One who does. Today, if you're walking through a difficult season, remember: ✅ God sees you. ✅ God loves you. ✅ God has not abandoned you. ✅ There is hope in Christ. Don't listen only to your fears—preach God's promises to your soul. 🎙️ Listen to today's episode of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John as we explore how faith clings to God in dark moments and finds renewed hope in His steadfast love. #TheStoryOfScripture #Psalm42 #HopeInGod #FaithOverFear #TrustGod #ChristianPodcast #BibleReadingPlan #DailyDevotional #PastorJohn #HopeInChrist Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2082142/support]
