Epic! - "The Odyssey," "Widow's Bay" and a Cagney Musical

It's thinking-person's blockbuster time at the movies. That means Christopher Nolan , who loves opening movies when people are all sweaty, has a new movie out. This time it's "The Odyssey" starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, the kid who plays Spiderman and that kid's girlfriend, maybe wife. Bill Bregoli and Bill McCuddy both went to see it and they'll both tell you what they think in less than 2 hours and 50 minutes which is how long the movie is. Neil Rosen tells us about a musical he saw called "Cagney" which is, surpise, about James Cagney. We've also got some streaming shows to tell you about incclusing "Widow's Bay," "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed" and "Witness." So give us a listen before standing in line at the movies.

It's what Matthew Broderick once called "Africa Hot" out there. And there's nothing better on a hot holiday weekend than OPAC - aka Other People's Air Conditioning. And there's no place better than your local movie theater. And we'll tell you what's worth seeking out in the heat - and what isn't. We start with the new "Supergirl." There's been a little controversy about it. Bill Bregoli saw it and he'll let you know what he thinks. "Toy Story 5" is also in theaters and it's a lot less controversial. Neil Rosen even took his daughter along to see it and he'll let you know what he thinks. Bill McCuddy's air conditioning is apparently working just fine so he's been streaming movies including "Tuner" and "The Sheep Detectives." We'll also update you on some streaming series we've been catching up with and Neil has some book reports. So Listen in.

Dissing!: "Disclosure Day," "The Furious" "Finnegan's Foursome" and More!

If the World Cup games have been boring you to tears we have just the thing for you. There are still some summer movies out there for you to check out. We start with Stephen Spielberg's first science fiction movie in a long time called "Disclosure Day." It stars Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor and it's about aliens. Not the kind that Fox News is always talking about, these come from outer space. Bill McCuddy and Bill Bregoli saw and and they'll certainly let you know what they thought. Then we've got a wild Hong Kong action movie called "The Furious" and everyone is Kung Fu fighting. Neil Rosen tells us about his interview with actor/filmmaker Ed Burns whose new film "Finnegan's Foursome" is now streaming. And Neil will tell you how you can even watch the interview. We also take on some streaming series such as "Margot's Got Money Troubles" and "The Four Seasons." So listen in!

In Space No One Can Hear You Snore - The New "Star Wars" & More!

The calendar my say other wise but Hollywood says it's summer so here come the blockbesters. Well, a new Star Wars movie, sort of. It's "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu." Bill Bregoli had been haunting actual movie theaters so he checked it out and his verdict is...Neil Rosen has his eyes glued on streaming channels and he tells us about "Marty: Life is Short" which is about, you guessed it, Martin Short. Bill McCuddy watched a movie, albeit on Amazon Prime called "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War" which he fills us in on. And speaking of streaming, we also have "Beef," "Love Story," "Beef," "Just in Time" and a real doozy called "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed." If you're still venturing out to movie theaters there's one Bill B really liked called "Tuner" with Dustin Hoffman. So listen in!

Here Already - "The Devil Wears Prada 2," "Michael,' "Lorne" and More!

The ofiicial start of Summer is weeks away according to the calendar but as far as Hollywood is concerned it's time to bring on the blockbusters. Or blockbuster hopefuls anyay. We start with a sequel we've been waiting 20 years for - "The Devi Wears Prada 2." Stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt have all returned. Will audiences? Bill Bregoli has seen it and has the same question. Then we have "Michael" starring Jaafar Jackson as his uncle, the king of pop. Neil Rosen and Bill McCuddy weigh in at length on what they thought of it. We've also got "A Spoonful of Chocolate" written and directed by RZA. And for you streaming folks there's "Apex" which as Charlize Theron on the rocks so to speak. Plus "DTF: St Louis" and "Margot's Got Money troubles" starring Elle Fanning. If yuou want to start off your summer with documentaries we've got "Lorne," "Breakdown: 1975" and "Naked Ambition." So put off buying sun block for a while and listen to us.
