Ars Poetica - Poetry plus Photography

This year Bainbridge Island Photo Club again participated in the Kitsap County Ars Poetica event to celebrate National Poetry Month. For Ars Poetica, local poets submit works for the event. Judges select which poems will be featured. Local artists chose from the selected poems to interpret via visual arts, including paintings or photographs. This is the second of a two-part series. Poetry for the public!

The City of Bainbridge Island is offering a paid public art opportunity for poets. This artist call invites poets to submit a portfolio of their work for review. Up to ten poets will be selected based on their submission packet to create an original poem (with a small honorarium) that will reflect creativity, diversity, and a strong sense of place. In the end, four poems will be chosen, with each selected poet receiving a $500 honorarium). The final poems will be displayed at city hall.
