Jesus Had Left My Body Trou Through Proverbs. June 17.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue: This phrase emphasizes the profound impact of words.Biblically, the tongue is often seen as a powerful tool that can either buildup or destroy. In James 3:5-6, the tongue is compared to a small fire that canset a forest ablaze, highlighting its potential for both good and harm. Thecultural context of ancient Israel placed a high value on spoken words, as oralcommunication was the primary means of conveying laws, traditions, andteachings. The power of the tongue is also evident in the creation narrative, where God speaks the world into existence (Genesis 1). This underscores thebelief that words have creative and destructive power, reflecting the divineattribute of speech. and those who love it will eat its fruit: This part of the verse suggests that individuals whounderstand and appreciate the power of their words will experience theconsequences of their speech. The metaphor of "fruit" implies thatwords, like seeds, grow and produce outcomes, whether beneficial or harmful. Inthe biblical context, fruit often symbolizes the results of one's actions orcharacter (Matthew 7:16-20). The idea of reaping what one sows is a recurringtheme in Scripture, as seen in Galatians 6:7-8, where Paul warns that a personwill harvest what they plant. This phrase encourages self-awareness andresponsibility in communication, reminding believers that their words can leadto life-giving or destructive outcomes. Our words can have lasting impacts, both positive andnegative. We must consider the potential consequences of our speech and striveto speak life into every situation. #viral #Trending #fyp #ministry #proverbs

What you say and what you don’t say are both important. Proper speech is not only saying the right words at the right time but it’s also controlling your desire to say what you shouldn’t. Examples of an untamed tongue include gossiping, putting others down bragging, manipulating false teaching, exaggerating, complaining, flattery and lying before you speak you should ask yourself is what I want to say true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? James compares the damage of the tongue to a raging fire. The tongue’s wickedness has its source in hell itself. The uncontrolled tongue can do terrible damage. Satan uses the tongue to divide people and pit them against one another. Idle and hateful words are damaging because they spread destruction quickly and no one can stop the results once they’re spoken. We dare not be careless with what we say thinking we can apologize later because even if we do, the scars remain. A few words, spoken in anger, can destroy a relationship that took years to build before you speak. Remember that words are like fire you can neither control no reverse the damage they can do.

Proverbs 15:4 (NIV)“The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.”Meaning:This proverb contrasts the power of words: * A gentle, healing, and truthful tongue brings life, encouragement, wisdom, and restoration to others—like a "tree of life" that nourishes and sustains. * A perverse, deceitful, harsh, or corrupt tongue can deeply wound people, discouraging them and damaging their spirit. * Encourages rather than tears down. * Heals rather than hurts. * Speaks truth with kindness. * Builds relationships instead of damaging them. Practical application:The verse reminds us that our words have tremendous influence. We can choose speech that:Reflection question:How can your words today become a source of life and encouragement to someone who needs it?
