episode I Knew This Tequila Was Different Immediately cover

Description

The second I nosed this tequila… I knew it was different. The new 2026 Lágrimas del Valle “La Mesa del Charco” Plata might honestly be one of the most exciting blanco tequila releases of the year. This is the FIRST single estate release fully owned and farmed by the Rosales family of Cascahuín (NOM 1123), and you can immediately taste and smell the difference. Using traditional brick ovens, a blend of tahona and roller mill extraction, and mixed fermentation with stainless steel and wood tanks with fibers, this tequila delivers incredible cooked agave, floral notes, minerality, citrus, pepper, and a subtle eucalyptus character that absolutely jumps out of the glass. In this review, I break down: * Aroma and tasting notes * Traditional production methods * Why this release matters * The story behind La Mesa del Charco * How it compares to previous Lágrimas del Valle releases Special thanks to Brandon Cummings from Altamar Brands for the interview and insight into this incredible project. I Usually Avoid Honey Tequila… But This One Surprised Me! | Blue Star Reposado Honey Review

Honey tequila review, Blue Star Reposado Honey review, infused tequila review, flavored tequila review, Blue Star Spirits tequila, honey tequila tasting notes, tequila reviews 2026. When I first heard about Blue Star Reposado Honey Tequila, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As someone who usually prefers traditional additive-free tequilas, flavored and infused tequilas aren’t normally my first choice. But after seeing Blue Star recognized at the Agavos Awards and receiving a bottle to review, I decided to give it a fair shot. Produced at NOM 1589 in Jalisco, Mexico, Blue Star Reposado Honey combines reposado tequila aged 3-4 months with 100% natural honey sourced from artisan beekeepers in Jalisco. The result is a sweet but surprisingly balanced tequila that still allows some agave character to shine through. In this review I’ll cover: Aroma and tasting notes Production methods Honey infusion process Who this tequila is for Whether it’s worth the $44.99 price tag Have you tried a honey tequila before? I’ve NEVER Had a High-Proof Rosa Añejo… Until Now

Elevación 1250 Rosa Añejo Fuerte review! This unreleased tequila from NOM 1522 was crafted by Master Distiller Iliana Partida and aged 14 months in French oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Napa Valley. Bottled at 44.4% ABV, this High-Proof Rosa Añejo may be one of the most unique tequilas I’ve tasted all year. In this review, I’m taking a first look at the upcoming Elevación 1250 Rosa Añejo Fuerte, a tequila that isn’t even on the market yet. What makes it unique? ✅ 14 Months Aged ✅ French Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels ✅ Napa Valley Wine Casks ✅ Wet Barrel Program ✅ 44.4% ABV (High Proof) ✅ Crafted by Iliana Partida ✅ Produced at NOM 1522 ✅ Additive-Free Tequila The barrels are sourced directly from a California Cabernet Sauvignon winery and filled within approximately three weeks of being emptied, allowing the tequila to capture incredible wine character while maintaining the agave-forward profile tequila lovers crave. Could this be one of the most interesting tequila releases of the year? Watch the full review and let me know your thoughts in the comments. Have you ever tried a Rosa Añejo? Can You Smell Flowers in Tequila? | Blind Floral Notes Challenge

Can you actually smell flowers in tequila? Welcome back to Episode 4 of Training My Tequila Nose, the tequila sensory training series where I use a professional sommelier aroma kit to improve my ability to identify tequila aromas, tasting notes, and flavor profiles. Today we’re focusing on one of the most misunderstood tequila tasting notes: floral aromas. Using a blind aroma challenge, I test myself on floral notes and then compare what I smell against two incredible additive-free blancos: La Pulga 110 High Proof Blanco Siempre Exclusivo Vivo Blanco Many tequila drinkers hear reviewers talk about floral notes, orange blossom, jasmine, honeysuckle, and delicate aromas—but can you actually identify them blind? More importantly, can aroma training help you recognize those same characteristics inside a glass of tequila? In this episode we explore: * Floral notes in tequila * Blind aroma training * Tequila sensory development * High-proof tequila tasting * Additive-free tequila * Aroma recognition techniques * How professional tasters develop their palate The goal of this series isn’t to sound fancy—it’s to train our brains to recognize aromas and become better tequila tasters together.
