episode Late Diagnosed ADHD, Burnout, Masking and Rebuilding Confidence with Ria Taher cover

Description

What does ADHD look like when you have spent years being the capable one, the high achiever, the person who keeps going no matter what? In this episode of Reclaim Your Voice, I’m joined by Ria Taher, founder of RI ALIGN, who supports high achieving adults with ADHD, AuDHD, burnout and overwhelm. Ria works with people who have been late diagnosed, who suspect they may have ADHD, or who are trying to understand why life and work can feel harder than they seem to for other people. On her site, she describes her work as helping ambitious, busy minds and diverse thinkers move from overwhelm to clarity, confidence and sustainable change.  Together, we explore what late diagnosed ADHD can look like in real life, why so many adults have spent years masking and people pleasing, and how that can affect confidence, identity and emotional wellbeing. Ria also shares her own diagnosis journey, the grief that can come with finally making sense of the past, and why understanding how your brain works can be the beginning of a completely new chapter. Her coaching draws on neuroscience, executive coaching models, neuro linguistic programming, and executive functioning frameworks.  We also talk about rejection sensitive dysphoria, burnout cycles in high achievers, time blindness, hyperfocus, emotional regulation, and the practical tools that can help people work with their brain rather than against it. Ria explains why self awareness is the foundation for change, why journaling and brain dumping can be powerful first steps, and how routines like movement and exercise can support focus, clarity and regulation. If you have ever wondered whether ADHD could be part of your story, or you are supporting someone who is navigating a diagnosis, this conversation is full of insight, reassurance and practical takeaways. In this episode, we cover:  Late diagnosed ADHD in adults  ADHD in high achieving women and professionals  Masking, people pleasing and burnout  Rejection sensitive dysphoria and confidence  Executive functioning, focus and time management  Journaling, self awareness and emotional regulation  How ADHD coaching can support clarity, confidence and sustainable success About Ria Taher Ria Taher is the founder of RI ALIGN, where she offers 1 to 1 coaching, group coaching, workplace coaching and training for people experiencing ADHD, neurodivergence, burnout and overwhelm. What a Weekend in a Castle Taught Me About Using Your Voice

I got back from a retreat last weekend at Carr Castle in Halifax with my mentor Matt Hall and a room full of incredible founders and entrepreneurs. And I came home with something I couldn't wait to share with you. In this episode I'm taking you through the whole weekend, the highlights, the wobbles, the conversations I wasn't expecting, and the clarity I landed on by Sunday evening that has sharpened everything about how I talk about my work. But this isn't just a retreat debrief. Because everything that happened over those three days kept pointing back to the same thing. What becomes possible for you when you stop letting nerves run the show. We talk about: * Why setting intentions out loud in a room full of people does something powerful to your nervous system * What actually happened when I tried and failed to switch off mid-launch * How a conversation by the pool that nobody planned became the most valuable moment of the weekend * The breathwork session that left me completely still, and what that feeling has to do with how your audience experiences you when you speak * What changes in your business when your voice stops getting in the way * Why the most successful people in the room weren't the most qualified, they were the ones who could communicate If you have ever walked into a high-stakes moment and felt your nerves take over. If you have been turning down speaking opportunities, stumbling through sales calls, or sitting on a message you're not quite ready to share yet. This episode is for you. Why Your Voice Matters More Than You Think (And the Belief Keeping You Silent) with Kirsty Mason

Why Your Voice Matters More Than You Think with Kirsty Mason What if the thing keeping you invisible in your business isn’t your strategy, your content, or your offer, but an identity you’ve quietly outgrown? In this episode, I’m joined by Kirsty Mason, identity coach for ambitious women and former British Sign Language interpreter. Kirsty spent 24 years as the voice for other people before she discovered that her own deepest limiting belief was that she wasn’t important enough to be heard. Now she helps women rewire exactly that. We go deep on what’s actually going on when you keep telling yourself you need more confidence, more qualifications, or more proof before you’re allowed to take up space. And the answer might surprise you. In this episode we cover: •What identity coaching actually is and why strategy alone will never be enough •How the subconscious mind creates a belief system that quietly runs your business decisions •The invisible barriers deaf people face every day that hearing people never notice •Why Kirsty spent 24 years putting herself in the shadows and the moment that changed •What your nervous system has to do with hitting income goals (and why it might be sabotaging you) •How to “take your thoughts to court” and find the evidence for what you actually believe •The difference between surface-level visibility and true identity-level change •What reclaiming your voice really means, and why it starts in childhood Connect with Kirsty: Instagram: @kirsty_mason_coaching [https://www.instagram.com/kirsty_mason_coaching] Website: www.kirstymasoncoaching.com [https://www.kirstymasoncoaching.com/] Enjoyed this episode? From Shy Child to Senior Producer: How to Find Your Voice and Own It with Sarah Collins

What does it really take to show up and be heard when you spent most of your life keeping quiet? In this episode I'm joined by Sarah Collins, media trainer, communication coach and former senior producer at ITV and ITN, where she spent over 20 years working on some of the UK's biggest daytime television shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. Sarah's story is one that will resonate deeply. She grew up shy, kept her head down at school, and walked into one of the loudest industries in the country with no real toolkit for using her voice. It wasn't until a small but significant moment in a busy newsroom, when an editor told her he already knew who she was, that something shifted. Now she helps female founders and organisations get media ready, blending her insider television expertise with ICF accredited coaching to help people show up in podcast interviews, TV appearances and beyond with clarity, confidence and conviction. We talk about: * Why not knowing what to say is the real confidence blocker, not nerves * The three foundations Sarah uses with every client: mission, key messages and story * How she watched expert after expert crumble under studio pressure and what she learned from it * Why she avoided the camera herself for nearly 20 years and how that changed * The client who went from not knowing what to say at networking events to speaking in parliament * What reclaiming your voice looks like when you have spent years hiding in plain sight This one is a brilliant listen whether you have a podcast interview coming up, a stage opportunity on the horizon, or you simply want to start showing up with more presence and purpose. Finding Your Voice After Everything Falls Apart: Building Two Businesses Through Separation with Becci Jones

What does it take to build not one but two businesses while navigating separation, solo parenting a four-year-old, and doing it all without letting anyone see the cracks? In this episode I'm joined by Becci Jones, LullaBaby franchisee in Lincoln and West Lindsay and founder of Beyond Birth with Becci, a postnatal doula business built to support mums who feel like they're doing it all alone, even when they're in a relationship. Becci opens up about a 12-year relationship that unravelled, an award-winning business her partner never once acknowledged, and how she kept showing up for her community while carrying more than anyone knew. We talk about: * Why Becci became a doula to better support the mums already coming to her baby classes * What the fourth trimester actually is and why so many women are left unsupported in it * The breastfeeding statistic that will genuinely stop you in your tracks (80% of women who felt they couldn't breastfeed weren't physiologically unable to, they just weren't supported) * How going through separation became the fuel for her business * What it means to hold space for other people when nobody is holding it for you * Why she started being honest online about what was really going on in her life, and what happened next * How she's building a personal brand by being unapologetically herself * The real reason community matters so much in those early months of motherhood Becci also shares why she believes mums in relationships need a voice just as much as single parents do, and why knowing your own instincts is the most powerful thing you can give yourself in parenting and in business. If you are in the middle of a hard season and wondering whether now could ever be the right time to build something, this one is for you. episode Why Your Body Betrays You When You Speak (And What To Do About It) artwork

Why Your Body Betrays You When You Speak (And What To Do About It)

You know your topic inside out. You've prepared. And then you step up to speak and suddenly your hands are shaking, your voice goes tight and your mind goes completely blank. In this episode, Savanna Madden breaks down exactly what is happening in your body when nerves take over, and why most speaking advice completely misses the mark. You'll learn: * Why your nervous system can't tell the difference between danger and a speaking gig * The five most common physical symptoms of speaking nerves and what's behind each one * Three practical tools you can use in the minutes before you speak, including a breathing technique you can do in a bathroom cubicle before you walk on * Why structure beats script every time * How anchoring your identity changes everything This episode also gives you a first look at the VOICE framework, Savanna's methodology for helping female founders show up and speak with genuine confidence, not the white-knuckled kind. Whether you have a speaking opportunity tomorrow or in six months, this episode gives you something you can use straight away.
