Description

On today's show, Scoot Rouses is expanding to Chalmette. A grocery store opening might not sound like major news, but the right store can change the rhythm of a neighborhood. How many stores do you go to each week to get everything you need? CBS News fired veteran "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley following a heated staff meeting where he directly confronted the program's new leadership. After the murder of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, some people posted comments that were tasteless or offensive but still protected by the First Amendment. Lawsuit settlements for people punished over those comments have now reportedly topped $1.5 million. Do we agree that even ugly speech is still protected speech? Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson is facing backlash after shutting down a crowd chanting “USA! USA!” during a concert. Some fans booed, and some walked out. What did he say—and was he out of line? Senator Ted Cruz pushed back against Republican Representative Andy Ogles, who had posted, "Homosexuality has no place in America." Cruz, responding to the statement, told reporters, "For all of recorded history, homosexuals have been part of humanity," adding, "I'm quite libertarian by nature." I think the behavior of consenting adults is their business."
