The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the FDA are actively investigating, but no specific food product, produce item, or supplier has been identified as the source of the contamination. The Trump administration has signed a contract to open a new 528-bed ICE holding facility near the Alexandria International Airport in Alexandria, Louisiana. The site is designed as a short-term staging area to speed up deportations of migrant families and unaccompanied children.
