In 1993, 22-year-old Anabel Segura was kidnapped while jogging in Madrid's La Moraleja neighborhood. Her family and the police spent almost three years looking for her after her kidnappers made them believe she was still alive. A clue in a ransom tape led the police to identify and arrest the kidnappers after realizing Anabel was long gone. The kidnappers were sentenced to lengthy prison terms, but only served a fraction of their sentences before being released. Anabel’s story left a lasting impact, and her legacy continues to be honored in Madrid with a cultural center named after her. What do you think about her killers being allowed to walk free? In 1995, 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk disappeared on her way to work in the Netherlands. Weeks later, she was found dead in the woods—but despite multiple leads, no arrests were made, and the case went cold. Sixteen years later, her stepbrother Andy made a shocking move: he falsely confessed to the crime. His goal? To force police to reopen the case and test for DNA. Andy’s confession helped break the case open, and new evidence pointed to Jos de G., a man with a criminal record. He was later convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 12 years—but not for murder. Andy, who struggled with mental health and addiction, passed away in 2021 at age 46. After years of fighting for justice, his story ended in tragedy. Did Nicole or her family ever truly get justice? It’s June 2021. A man forces his way into the Carhee family’s Houston apartment and starts shooting. Their 10-year-old daughter is hit, but survives by playing dead. She has to watch her pregnant mother, father, and sister die. After the killer leaves, she locks the door, grabs her baby brother, and calls for help. Bleeding and in shock, that little girl's courage saves two lives. Police say this wasn’t random. The attack was allegedly planned by a woman who once dated the mother, and watched the murders happen live on FaceTime. A man posing as a delivery driver walked into a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park, Illinois. Within 40 minutes, five women were executed—shot in the back of the head. One survived by pretending to be dead. No cameras. No clear motive. And the suspect? Still out there. Police have a sketch, partial 911 audio, and over 7,000 tips, but no answers. What do you guys think: was it really a robbery... or something more personal? And with such a clear sketch in their hands, why do you think no one has turned this guy in?
